1.0 INSTALLATION
1.1 UNPACKINGRemovetheEDAfromtheshippingcartonandinspectfordamage.Ifdamageisfound,notifythecarrierimmediately.
1.2 MOUNTINGTheEDAcanbepipe,panel,orsurfacemounted.Forpipemountingthreadtheunitintoamatingfemalefittingonthepipe.Useawrenchonthe3/4˝hexatthebaseofthehousingtotightentheunittothematingfitting.Donotthreadtheunitinbyforceonthehousing.Forpanelmounting,inserttheunitintothepanelopeningandsecureinplacewiththemachinescrewsandadaptersprovidedwiththeunitasshowninFigure1below.Maximumpanelthicknessis1/8”(3.5mm)withsuppliedscrews.Forsurfacemounting,panelmounttheunitintotheA-EDA-BRKmountingbracket(SeetheDwyercatalogorwebsitefororderingdetails)alsoshowninFigure1.Theunitcanalsobedirectlysurfacemounted,asshowninFigure2,withtheproperpanelcutoutfortheconduitentrances.Supportthepressureconnectionhexwithawrenchifattachingafittingtotheunitinthecaseofpanelorflushmountingsothatthepressureconnectiondoesnottwist.Useasmallamountofplumber’stapeorothersuitablesealantstopreventleaksaroundfitting.

1.3 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Note: Installationmustbemadeinaccordancewithlocalcodesandregulations.
Electricalconnectionsaremadetotheremovableterminalblocksinsidetheenclosure.Removethetopbackcover,donotremovebottomcover.FeedstrippedandtinnedleadsthroughtheconduitopeningandconnectthemasshowninFigure3.TheEDAprovidestwo1/2˝NPTfemaleportsforconduitconnection.Theconduitconnectionsmustbemadesuchthatcondensationisnotallowedtoenterthesensorhousing.Ifnecessaryinstallaconduitbreatherdraininaseparateconduitbodytopreventbuildupofmoisture.Itisrecommendedthatshieldedtwistedpairwirebeusedforthetransmitteroutputoptionifthepotentialexistsforinterferencefromexternalnoisesources.Whenreplacingtopbackcovertightenscrewsto2±.25in.lbs.
LoadscanbeconnectedtoconnectorsCONN7andCONN8terminalblocksbasedontheControlsettings: •Forsinglesetpointmode(CtrL-1SP),connecttheLoadtoSP1relay(CONN7). •Fortwosetpointsmode(CtrL-2SP),connecttheLoad1toSP1relay(CONN7)and Load2toSP2relay(CONN8). •Forsinglesetpointandalarmmode(CtrL-SPAL),connecttheLoad1toSP1relay (CONN7)andLoad2toALARMrelay(CONN8).WiringAnexternalswitchorcircuitbreakershouldbeaddedtoduringtheinstallationasadisconnectingdevice.TheswitchorcircuitbreakermustmeettherequirementsofIEC60947-1andIEC60947-3,shalldisconnectallcurrentcarryingconductors,andshallnotinterrupttheprotectiveearthground.Thedisconnectingswitchorcircuitbreakermustbemarkedorlabeledwiththesymbols“I”foronand“O”foroff,perIEC60417-5007&IEC60417-5008andshallbemarkedas“DisconnectingDevice”.DonotpositionthePLSinaspacewhereitisdifficulttooperatethedisconnectingdevicethatprovidespower.300V@90°C18AWG/0.75mm2wiringwithPVCorequivalentinsulationwith94-V0orFV-0flammabilityratingisrecommendedfortheswitchoutputsandpower.Terminalblocksratedfor16-22solidorstrandedcopperconductor.6lbinissuggestedtighteningtorque.

Setting Set Points and Alarms
Set Point Adjustment Adjustingthesetpointsisquickandsimple.Insteadofsettingasetpointanddeadband,simplyadjustSP1H,SetPoint1High,andSP2H,SetPoint2High,forthedesiredrelayturnonpoint,andthenadjustSP1L,SetPoint1Low,andSP2L,SetPoint2Low,forthedesiredrelayturnoffpoint.
Intheabovegraph,aninstrumentwitha100psirangewouldhavetheSP1relayturnONat80psiandOFFat40psi.SP1HsetstherelayturnONpoint,andSP1LsetstherelayturnOFFpoint.
The hot key provides direct access to the Set Point and Alarm settings. The Set Point and Alarm settings that are displayed are based upon the Control (CtrL) menu item.

Relay Action
Therelaysoutputsnormallyfunctioninthedirectactingmode,whichmeanstherelaysturnONwithanincreaseinpressure.SP1andSP2maybeconfiguredtoactasreverseactingrelays(refertotheCtrLmenuitem).Whensetforreverseacting,SP1HandSP2HsettherelayturnOFFpoint,andSP1LandSP2LsettherelayturnONpoint.Theabovegraphdemonstratesdirectandreverseactiononprocess(pressure)change.
Alternating (Lead/Lag) OperationTheEDAisdesignedtoeasilyoperateapairofpumpsinanalternatingoperationtominimizepumpwear.Theunithasprogrammableonandoffsetpointsforpumponeandtwo.Ifthelead/lagfeatureisturnedoffthentherelaysremainattachedtotheircorrespondingsetpoints,SP1HandSP1Lcontrolrelay1(pump1)andSP2HandSP2Lcontrolrelay2(pump2).Thereisnoalternatingfunction.
