“The slope itself is one of those sites where time sweet-ened the topographic form, eliminating some forms of vegetation, leading and dominating the movements of the water. Men and animals that built and inhabited this Landscape, instilled shapes and ridges, nullifying Time itself in the timeless dimension these spaces acquired.”

Near the University campus and highly accessible, through the pedestrian street, bikeway and subway, the new IST Learning Center aims to claim his place as the new knowl-edge center of the city capable of stimulating social and cul-tural interaction and offering an innovative learning platform.

SPACE TO CULTURE
Nowadays people get in touch with art mainly through exhibitions. This Cultural Centre pretends to be an icon by showcasing and participating in the creative process.
This is achieved by offering a continuous perception through all spaces and stages of the creative process. With this is mind the program was laid out taking full ad-vantage of the spatial qualities that the building offers.
Once isolated form the surrounding community this Centre is now deeply connected with the town. New spaces for the gen-eral public were created inviting people to live also the outside.
