SEPTEMBER 2013 Dear Friends, The halls are buzzing here at the PBS39 Public Media and Education Center for many reasons this month. It is my pleasure to announce your local public broadcasting station has been nominated for two 2013 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards. A Tempo InDepth: Teen Pregnancy story about a 16-year-old father fighting for his family in Allentown was nominated in the education/school feature category. The Tempo InDepth: Health Initiative – Heart Disease program was nominated in the health/environment/science category. Both shows can be viewed in their entirety at tempo.wlvt.org The second exciting announcement is the launch of a new local program that will broaden the scope and understanding of our communities, their issues and attrib- utes. Our new FOCUS show will kick off Fri- day, September 20th at 7:00pm. Our Tempo series ran for 14 seasons, and we are proud of the impact this show made on our region. FOCUS gives PBS39 a fresh start to reconnect with the community—and we remain committed to delivering com- prehensive reports with high-production quality not found anywhere else. A Tempo InDepth: Teen Pregnancy story
