“Missing Mansions of East Avenue” Presented by Don Hall

Rochester’s East Ave., between Alexander St. & Colby St., re-

mains one of the best-preserved gateway streets entering any

city in the United States. Still, about half of the millionaires’

homes that lined the avenue have disappeared. Through the

use of historic & contemporary photos, Don contrasts van-

ished East Ave. with the present, covering the adaptive re-use

of many fine homes & providing information on seven local

architects who designed half of these mansions.

Are You Ready to Break Up with Sugar?

Are you addicted to sugar? We will learn about the effects

added sugar has on the body, how to recognize it in our

foods, & consider the potentially toxic effects. We will also

build awareness around & learn how to break addictive eat-

ing patterns. Each class will add a little home fun to apply

what you are learning between sessions. You may choose to

reduce or eliminate sugar from your diet for good during the

This will be an in-depth study of the biographies & times of the

vious leaders. This is more about personal lives & not the poli-

tics, including heartbreak, triumphs, family tragedies, & so

K-9 Demonstration - Ever wonder about K-9 dogs & what

they do? These awesome dogs are trained in specific areas,

track down nitrates, drugs, airport security, & so much more.

Coverage is 24/7 & they assist towns/villages around Monroe

County. The K-9 unit conducts school & jail searches, & per-

forms demonstrations. Donations of new dog treats, toys, &

Zentangle Presented by Marilyn Colby.

Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, & fun way to create

beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost any-

creased sense of personal well-being. Zentangle is enjoyed all

over this world across a wide range of skills, interests, & ages.

provide guidance in eldercare situations. No appointment is
