We would like to thank Chantale Crivea, Brayden Kotyk, Taylor Fedler and Tawnie Kotyk for all their hard work to make summer 2016 so successful! 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Estevan

Thank you to all our volunteers, athletes and Mission Staff for making the 2016 Sas-

katchewan Summer Games a success! Team Rivers West Final Placings are

available.

2016 SSFA Provincial 55+ Games in the Battlefords

The Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association Provincial 55+ Games took place in the Battlefords on July 5-7, 2016.

There is no official medal numbers however SSFA Rivers West District had a record

number of entries and we exceeded expectations with new activities introduced and a

great number of volunteers who participated.

SSFA 55+ Champion Adds Another Gold to Collection

Edna Foster poses (beside) with her latest medal, a gold in bowling at the 55+ Can-

ada Games in Brampton, ON. "I was fortunate enough to get the gold" said Edna,

age 97, who competed in the 85+ women's category.

2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games in North Battleford

SPRA Conference and Annual General Meeting

Join SPRA in October 2016 for the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association's Conference and Annual General Meeting, hosted in conjunction with the Communities in Bloom National Symposium on Parks and Grounds and National and International Awards Ceremonies.

SPRA is calling this joint national event Healthy Communities: Harvesting the Benefits. It will be held at the Delta Hotel - Saskatchewan Trade and Convention Centre in Regina from October 27-29, 2016.

CIF extends Community Places and Spaces Program

Targeted to end March 31, 2016 the CIF Community Places and Spaces Program will now end March 31, 2017. This

means 1 application deadlines remain: October 1, 2016. The program supports small capital renovations that improve

the quality, sustainability, and long-term use of multi-purpose community facilities such as halls, recreation facilities, and

playgrounds. The Community Grant Program that enhance the health and wellbeing of Saskatchewan's children, youth

and families has deadlines of April 1 and October 1 for Annual grants. For that grant, apply here: http://www.cifsask.org/

Culture Days

Culture Days is being held across Saskatchewan September 30, October 1 & 2, 2016. Many events are taking place in Rivers West District. Our website has a list of what Culture Days activities are taking place in a community near you. Culture Days events are posted on their website and will be updated through September 19.

2017 North American Indigenous Games

Coaching for this event will not be determined until the team has been named.

Creative Kids

The Creative Kids program is an initiative to reduce financial barriers for children participating in the areas of arts and

culture. SaskCulture Inc. and the Saskatchewan Arts Board have been working with members of the community to de-

velop a provincial initiative designed to reduce financial barriers for children who want to participate in organized arts and
