About Art DaysThe Miami DDA along with the cultural institutions, galleries and artists in Downtown Miami are coming together to present three fun-filled days of special programs and FREE events at our seventh annual Art Days, September 7-9, 2018. Art Days has something for everyone including our kick-off celebration event, exhibitions, performances, children’s programming, “The Fringe”, walking tours, art parties and more.
Wondering how to get to Downtown Miami for Art Days? If you are coming from West Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale ride with comfort and state of the art technology on the new Brightline train service. For more information, fares, and schedules, visit gobrightline.com. Also, don’t forget about Downtown’s FREE Miami Trolley and Metromover that will connect you to all events.
For more information on Art Days, visit miamidda.com/artdays.
HUBThe Miami Center for Architecture and Design (MCAD) located at 310 SE 1 St in the heart of Downtown Miami is once again this year’s Art Days Hub. Art Days staff will be available to help plan your itinerary and find the best routes to travel to each venue. Visit the Hub for detailed information on Art Days programming.
Kick-Off CelebrationJoin us as we kick-off Art Days 2018 weekend at the Southeast Financial Center lower lobby at 200 S Biscayne Blvd, on Wednesday, September 5 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Enjoy appetizers, drinks, music and a preview of some of the activations taking place during the weekend of Art Days 2018. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Fringe ProjectsFor Art Days 2018, Fringe Projects will commission El Paso native, Los
Angeles-based artist Keith Allyn Spencer to create a series of five hand-
painted car covers to provide surprising and delightful encounters for
passersby and Art Days participants throughout Downtown Miami. The
five covers will be created by the artist in response to his impressions
visiting Miami, and expanding on his interest in car culture, regional
aesthetics and border relationships. Both humorous and poignant, Miami
car covers make an everyday aspect of our automobile obsessed city stand
out in a way that puzzles, delights and inspires viewers.
