‣ ‣ Lock Museum promotes the beauty and scientific excellence of locks by collecting, preserving and

studying various unique locks from Korea and numerous countries around the world.

⁍ Soetdae: A Korean dialect for ‘key’

‣ ‣ Visitors can glimpse the spirit and lifestyles of Koreans in the past by examining these locks.

‣ ‣ In addition to storage and security of valuables, locks were also used for decorating furniture pieces

and doors. Patterns signifying lucky omens were often engraved on them to bring good fortune.

Gaeppul, a museum where visitors can peek into the history and structure of houses in Ihwa-dong

‣ ‣ It is famous among many foreign tourists as a filming location for the well-known Korean TV drama

The Girl Who Sees Smells, in which it appeared as the residence of the heroine Oh Cho-rim (played

by Shin Se-kyung).

‣ ‣ The museum was established by restoring an old house built during the settlement stage of

Ihwa-dong to its original state.

Accommodation

⦁ Tourist hotels or higher-level hotels in Seoul (stays of at least two nights) ⦁ Includes Hanok (traditional Korean-style house) stay, temple stay, Goodstay, Hi Seoul Youth Hostels, Korea Stay

✦ Peak season (April~October): One night at a tourist hotel in the Gyeonggi/Incheon area allowed ✦ Winter tourism products (November~December): One night at a tourist hotel in the Gyeonggi or

Gangwon area allowed

Meal

⦁ Minimum of KRW 20,000 per person for two to three meals per tour product and at least two days in Seoul ⁍ Minimum of KRW 6,000/person for one meal ✦ Lunch or dinner ✦ Restaurants in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas ✦ Breakfast excluded from evaluation (breakfast at a tourist hotel recognized once only)

Attraction

⦁ Minimum of KRW 15,000 per person for admission to two or three tourist spots or fees for hands-on experience events at two or three tourist spots

Dream on Hangang River and play along the river bank! The 2015 Hangang Haengbok Mongttang Project

‣ ‣ Organized for citizens and tourists to enjoy summer along Hangang River in the center of the city, in the sweltering heat of summer

‣ ‣ The greatest riverside festival for Seoul citizens where different cultural events such as water sports, under-the-bridge movie festival, midsummer night’s Mulbit performance, and street performance festival take place

Cool Hangang - Hangang splash, Box1 Race, water sports, swimming pool event, water safety class, etc.

Moving Hangang - Under-the-bridge movie festival, street performance festival, Mulbit festival, etc.

Challenging Hangang

- Bicycle Mongttang circuit, Big Game, walkathon, marathon, etc.

Sharing Hangang- Ecological experience, stargazing experience, fishing contest, Bamseom Island tour, rope

boat ride, etc.

•• Water sports expo: An opportunity to experience various water sports at one spot for a whole week

•• Beach soccer festival: A beach soccer competition organized by the Korea Football Association and held at the beach of Jamsil Hangang Park

- The beach soccer competition is held in conjunction with the DJ festival and SM Town performance

•• Box1 Race: A competition of shipbuilding using eco-friendly materials such as paper on the spot and a race

•• Hangang world fire dancing show: Fire show performance and folk performances such as Jwibulnori

•• Electro Dash: A nighttime marathon along a 5km electronic obstacle course
