MICRO-BAR DIFFERENTIALPRESSURE/FLOW TRANSMITTER

Micro-Bar electronic transmitter incorporates acapacitance based differential pressure cell forsensitive measurement on Air or other dry gases.Designed for gas flow measurement applications onextraction or ventilation systems, the micro basedelectronics uses calibration formulae required for Flo-Bar Averaging Pitot tubes, Orifice Plates or otherstandard DP based sensors. Simply installed adjacentto the flow line, standard pressure impulse tubinglinks the sensor directly to the Micro-Bar unit. Flowrate, flow units and alarm status are displayed on the twoline LCD: external signal transmission is via the 4-20mAloop power,with separate alarm relay and totaliser pulse.

With simple adjustment over a 5:1 full scale pressurerange available to the operator on site, the Micro-Barsuits varying process conditions or output scalingrequirements. The micro based electronics simplifiessite setup procedures, allowing adjustment of alarmoutput set points, totalisation pulse rate, averagingtime and zero checking.

Micro-Bar is applicable to measuring pressuredifferentials on operating theatres, clean rooms orglove boxes, to monitor system performance andprovide alarms. On process monitoring, Micro-Baris used for air filter blockage monitoring andburner control on furnaces. For these duties, thedisplay shows the pressure drop directly.

MICRO-BAR APPLICATIONS

FLOW MEASUREMENT

Pressure ports are connected to a Platon Flobar AveragingPitot tube or orifice plate via 4mm OD nylon impulse pipes.Using the calibration sheet supplied with the Flo-Bar, theMicro-Bar full scale pressure is ranged to the appropriatevalue for site conditions. Units are selected from the lookup table and the square root extraction mode used to giveusing the Micro-Bar press buttons. Remote transmission isvia the 4-20mA loop, wired via a recorder and display to aDC power source.

FLOW TOTALISATION

Separate flow totalisation with an external counter/displayor a pulse totaliser can be achieved from the second relayoutput in the Micro-Bar.

DP ALARM

Simple impulse tube pressure connections can be made tothe Micro-Bar unit to monitor DP across a filter, to detectblockage, or to a pressurised clean room, to monitor themaintenance of the required DP and alarm on hazardousconditions. Micro-Bar units provide the analogue outputfor recording purposes and the alarm output to signal thepotential hazard: two separate alarm levels are available.

The Magnehelic® is the industry standard tomeasure fan and blower pressures, filterresistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressuredrop across orifice plates, liquid levels withbubbler systems and pressures in fluid am-plifier or fluidic systems. It also checks gas-airratio controls and automatic valves and monitorsblood and respiratory pressures in medical careequipment.

PHOTOHELIC® DIFFERENTIAL PRESSUREGAUGES WITH ALARMS

Using solid state technology, the Series 3000MR Photohelic® switch/gauges combine the functionsof a precise highly repeatable differential pressureswitch with a large easy-to-read analoguepressure gauge employing the durable time-proven Magnehelic® design. Switch setting iseasy to adjust with large external knobs on thegauge face. Gauge reading is unaffected byswitch operation, it will indicate accurately even ifpower is interrupted. Solid state design nowresults in greatly reduced size and weight. Unitscan be flush mounted in 4 13/16" (122 mm) holeor surface mounted with hardware supplied.3000MR models employ versatileelectromechanical relays with gold over silvercontacts that are ideal for dry circuits. All modelsprovide both low and high limit control and include18-inch (45 cm) cable assemblies for electricalconnections.

Gauge accuracy is ±2%of full scale and switchrepeatability is ±1%. Switch deadband is onepointer width; less than 1% of full scale.Compatible with air and other non-combustiblenon-corrosive gases they can be used in systemswith pressures to 25 psig (1.725 bar). Optionalconstruction is available for use to either 35 psig(2.42 bar) or 80 psig (5.51 bar).

The 605 Series Magnehelic® Indicating Transmitterprovides for both visual monitoring and electroniccontrol of very low differential pressure. The Series605 is ideal for control applications in building HVACsystems where local indication is desired duringroutine maintenance checks or necessary whentrouble shooting the system. The easily read dialgauge is complemented by the two-wire, 4-20 mAcontrol signal utilising the time-proven Magnehelic®

The M6420-92 is ideal for applications where thesensing element has to be in direct contact with themedia. This enables measurement of medias thatcontain particles or are liable to congeal.

DESCRIPTION

The M6420-92 pressure transmitter is based on a fouractive arm strain gauge bridge fused to a high purityceramic diaphragm, offering high natural outputcoupled with superb chemical and corrosionresistance. It has a two wire, 4-20mA outputproportional to pressure and is fully CE compliant.The sensing element and its associated electronicsare housed in a rugged stainless steel case. The sensing element andits associated electronics are housed in a rugged twopart stainless steel case, which provides access to the5:1 turndown facility DIL switches and zero & spanpotentiometers. The two halves are secured bymeans of cap headed screws and an O-ring seal,which when coupled with the IP68 sealed cablegland, provides a high integrity waterproof assembly.
