Yes, I Am A Senior Citizen1. I’m the life of the party– even if it lasts until 8 pm.
2. I’m very good at opening childproof caps– with a hammer3. I’m usually interested in going home before I get to where I am going.
4. I’m smiling all the time because I can’t hear a thing you’re saying.5. I’m very good at telling stories; over and over and over and over....
6. I’m not really grouchy,I just don’t like traffic, waiting, crowds, lawyers, loudmusic, unruly kids, barking dogs, politicians and a fewother things I can’t seem to remember right now.7. I’m wrinkled, saggy, lumpy and that’s just my left leg.
8. I’m sure they are making adults much younger these days, and when did they let kids become policemen? And,how can kids be older than I feel sometimes?
9. I’m wondering, if you’re only as old as you feel, how could I be alive at 150?10. I’m a walking storeroom of facts– I’ve just lost the key to the storeroom door.Yes, I’m a SENIOR CITIZEN and
I think I am having the time of my life!

Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for everyone who has died serving in the American armed forces. Theholiday, originally known as Decoration Day, started after the Civil War to honor the Union and Confederate dead. Thefinal event that cemented the modern culture of Memorial Day in America was in 1968, when Congress passed the Uni-form Holiday Act, designating Memorial Day as the last Monday in May.
The ICCOA Newsletter is a monthly publication that informs the senior citizens in our surrounding area about events and activities at local senior centers.
It also provides the seniors with the monthly menu that many depend on for healthy meals.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?NO! If your phone rings and someone asks you that question: Can you hear me now?” Just hang up the phone
– It’s a SCAM. Especially hang up, if you don’t know the caller. What the caller is trying to do is record your voicesaying “yes” that consequently authorizes charges on your phone or utility bill. It’s a verbal contract just like click-ing “I agree” on a computer. The Better Business Bureau says that it’s called a “voice signature” and it is usedlegitimately by companies to show that you’ve agreed to a change or an upgrade in some sort of a plan. Tips toavoid this scam:
• Don’t Answer Number You Don’t Know • Don’t Confirm Your Number to Anyone• Don’t Give Personal Information • Don’t Answer Questions
If it’s an illegal marketing call and you press any button, you’ve just told them it’s a working number and thatyou’re responsive to picking up the telephone when it rings. Your telephone number can then be sold to manyother scammers. So, if you get an unsolicited phone call that asks you, “Can you hear me now?” just hang up!One way to protect yourself is to get on: https://donotcall.gov and register on the “Do Not Call List” or sign up fora free blocking service, such as “Nomorobo or let calls from unfamiliar numbers go to your answering machine. If you don’t have an answering machine...get one. Scammers rarely leave a message. In other types of scams, SecureMySocial.com lays out some easy guidelines to follow to avoid another type ofscam. First, it’s important to know how they conduct their scam. They essentially call you and either don’t sayanything or play disturbing sounds like someone crying for help, all to get you to call them back once they hangup: or they just try to get you to stay on the phone, which will charge you an exorbitant amount of money.
You should never call someone back that you don’t know! If you happen to pick up this kind of call – hangup. By looking at the area codes of the scam call, there’s a way to avoid answering the call altogether. Thesescammers may threaten litigation, may want personal information and are after your money.242 – Bahamas284 – British Virgin Islands473 – Grenada, Carriacou
