GSS Health Care Committee Update

• Student Health Insurance survey– Closed 4/24– 849 respondents (736 completes)– Will be working with other senators and

Administration on analysis, to be completed by end of May

GSS Health Care Committee Update• Dental plan options

– Case’s student health plan will begin offering more dental options for the 09-10 school year

– Opt-in program, at cost to students– Looking at offering up to 4 options to meet variety

of needs– Decisions made by end of May

GSS Health Care Committee Update• Your Health at Case: information for graduate

and professional students• Information for students on how to most efficiently and

effectively access health care during their time at Case– Student-oriented

• Skills needed: communications/writing, research, public speaking at orientations, general common sense

• This is a summer only project, so please consider volunteering some time if your schedule is lighter in the summer than during the school year

– Committee being formed; students will be represented

– Look at 2 major issues• Are the health care benefits offered adequate,

regardless of who pays for them?• Is Case’s policy on health insurance premiums

compatible with our desire to compete with top institutions for graduate students?
