Common Failure & Standard Update for Electronic Toys

However, toys with electricity can be extremely hazardous if improperly used. The possible dangers include but are not limited to electric shock, burns especially if the product has a heating element. Toys using electricity require further consideration to minimize the inherent risks. The electrical safety aspects of toys are addressed by EN 62115, with some mechanical tests taken from EN 71-1. Mr. Arkin Ng (吳秉堅先生) Fellow, The Textile Institute (CText, FTI) Fellow, Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel (FHKITA ) Mr. Arkin graduated from the textiles department of the Hong Kong Technical College over 30 years ago. Since then, he has been working as knitwear technologist. He has rich experienced in handling high-end knitwear products for world-class brands, through his practical engagement in all sectors of the trade . He has served in a number of key positions and take up several duties includes techno-design, production management, consultancy services and project research and technical training jointly with the institutions. Besides, Mr. Arkin has been the Visiting lecturer in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Visiting Professor in the Arts and Design Department, Pivot Point College, Sichuan, and Manager in Textile Institute American Chamber of Commerce Woo Hon Fai Secondary School, Executive Director and CTO.  Mr. Arkin is also active in community work, he has been appointed as the member for several Industrial & public services: Chairman in Textile Institute Association (Hong Kong) Ltd , Vice Chairman in Hong Kong Knitwear Exporters & Manufacturers Association Ltd, Director of Knitwear Innovation and Design Society, Director of Hong Kong Apparel Society Ltd, Executive Committee Member in Chinese Executives Club, The Hong Kong Management Association, Director of the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel, Member of Environmental Campaign Committee. The most recent publications are Contemporary Knitwear Handbook and English-Chinese Terminology of Knitwear Manufacturing.

Mr. Michael Yeung (楊能創先生) PhD Candidate, Master of Commerce in Marketing, Higher Diploma in Textile Chemistry, President’s Diploma of ASDC, Chartered Colorist, Certified Black Belt, QMS and EMS Lead Auditor, MCIM. Michael Yeung has regional exposure of apparel and textile related industries in Asia Pacific region and he has been working in the field of garment accessories and trims for over 18 years, covering zippers, buttons, hangers, brand identity products, packaging materials of attaching products and cable ties, and so forth. Michael is also a qualified QMS and EMS Lead Auditor since early 90s’. He is providing management consultancy and business re-engineering services for both local and overseas enterprises. Michael has extensive and wide spectrum of management consultancy experiences in the fields of textiles, apparels, property management, shoes, plastics and metals, toys, quality control, testing services and garment accessories. He has already assisted a number of clients in establishing management systems complying with ISO9001, ISO1400, OHSAS18001, ISO13485 and SA8000, as well as product certification like Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (Class I and II) and other eco-requirements in the States and Europe. In the past few years, Michael has been actively involving in Six Sigma training, quality improvement projects and other management training courses. Mr. Kwok Wo (郭和先生) Mr. Kwok has been working in the field of sweater finishing for more than 25 years. His laundry company is one of the three companies worldwide and the only company in HK being authorized by IWS (International Wool Secretariat). Mr. Kwok has given speeches on sweater finishing in various seminars and he was also the guest speaker in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Productive Council on sweater finishing. Mr. Kenneth Chan (陳國雄先生) Technical Consultant in Dyeing and Finishing Higher Diploma in Textile Chemistry, Hong Kong Polytechnic University Kenneth has been working in the field of garment finishing for many years and has been the technical consultant for various worldwide companies such as Chemiche Fabriek Triade B.V. in Greater China, Sandoz Sodyeco Ltd. , BASF, Ciba-Geigy (H.K.) Ltd. and Allied Colliods (Asia) Ltd, etc. Kenneth has also been the guest speaker in the Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA) on garment finishing and washing for many years.
