2. What is Self-Discipline? Training and control of oneself and one's conduct, usually for personal improvement Ability to control one's feelings and overcome one's weaknesses Ability to pursue what one thinks is right despite temptations to abandon it Bridge between goals and accomplishments 3. Self-Discipline Existential psychologists profess that mans primary problem is no less than himself. Thats why if an individual can solve the problems of his own, it will not be difficult to resolve all other problems. This holds true for the Filipinos. If the Filipinos can work out their own problems, perhaps it would be a lot easier to solve the problems of the society. 4. Self-Discipline Social analysts perceive that the peoples lack of self discipline is the root- cause of our nationwide problems such as poverty, corruption, terrorism, crimes, sca m, and many more. Almost everyday we encounter these things through media. 5. Self-Discipline Other forms of lack of self-discipline dont just occur in a massive part of a region or country. It might also be noticed around: on the road, at school, inside a classroom in your own house, and so on. 6. Self-Discipline Sometimes, lack of self-discipline forms an extreme violence against someone or himself. Rape or sexual harassment, murder, and suicide were just one of the few examples. These things are usually called animalistic acts precisely because only animals or beasts do practice them. 7. Self-Discipline The latter consists, first and foremost, in the good parental guidance and upbringing, social norms or conventions, other moral precepts which nurture an individual in his growth and development. As a result, an individuals character was molded and he is intended to behave and act according to said instructions. 8. Self-Discipline Discipline, therefore, is the voice of good breeding, self-restraint, self-control, and social norms which have been inculcated through parental guidance and instructions. 9.
