SARAH E. HAYES Sarah Hayes is a consultant specializing in global employee volunteer programs and successful business-community partnerships. Most recently she worked with the Civil Society Consulting Group (CSCG) and the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) as Consultant Director for the Global Corporate Volunteer Council (GCVC), a network of 55 dues-paying global companies based throughout the world and who have global employee volunteer programs. Ms. Hayes founded this network in 2006 with 6 global companies, providing value to the growing membership through convenings, webinars, and research studies and networking events. Ms. Hayes authored the 2011 publication Global Companies Volunteering Globally . Ms. Hayes founded KPMG’s “Involve” Program in 1993, and was tasked with scaling it from a local San Francisco initiative into a national, award-winning program, which she did. She went on to manage the program nationally and globally from 2000 through 2004. She represented KPMG on the National Council of Workplace Volunteerism also served on the U.S. Committee for the United Nations International Year of Volunteers in 2001. Ms. Hayes worked with Starwood Hotels during 2004 and 2005 to help develop their global community involvement program “Star Care” across all their brands, including Sheraton, Westin, W and St. Regis. As the first board member representing corporate interests on the board of IAVE, Ms. Hayes helped develop the corporate strategy for the organization, including the development of the GCVC. She has also been intricately involved in the corporate track planning for all IAVE World Volunteer Conferences every two years since 2002 (Seoul, Barcelona, New Delhi, Panama, Singapore, London and Australia in 2014.) As part of the conference teams she has assisted with the planning of the overall conferences, and particularly with fundraising efforts. Ms. Hayes has served on the Consultant Faculty of the Points of Light and has designed and developed workshops, forums and panels for conferences, and has been a speaker on various topics around corporate community involvement around the world.

While living in the New York area, Ms. Hayes served on the Board of Directors of the Red Cross of Northern New Jersey for 8 years.

Ms. Hayes currently resides in Mill Valley, California. She has a daughter, a writer living in Austin, TX. Ms. Hayes enjoys reading, hiking, wine-tasting, theater, comedy and playing piano. She also volunteers regularly at the Marin Humane Society.
