Seed Training and Operations Manager, Chris Gray, has vast experience in working with young people who have confidence and motivation issues; his work with disengaged young people has earned him a great reputation and even a spotlight on BBC National News. Turning Point


Our tutor, a former Connexions careers adviser, will introduce your learners to the career decision-making process and post-year-11/12/13 options, as well as covering employability skills and job applications. These interactive, high-tempo sessions have been developed over years of working with schools and

colleges, and are proven to be effective. The tutoring will help learners focus on their career goals, recognise the next steps to achieving these goals and give them an insight into the dreaded interview process!

Learning Outcomes:

Progress towards making well-informed, realistic career decisions; knowledge of employer expectations and experience of the job application process.

We have successfully delivered numerous live briefs over the past five years, working with organisations such as Channel 4, the BBC and Next, as part of a professional practice introductory course. This course is aimed at learners who are training for a career within the creative industries, with little to no

experience in multidisciplinary projects in a commercial setting. The programme brings together different creative disciplines to produce a commercial marketing campaign for clients’ online channels.

Learning Outcomes:

Commercial awareness, creative problem-solving, team-working under pressure, professional presentation and pitching skills.

Live Brief -

Enter the Dragons’ Den


With our in-house media production agency, we are specialists in the filmmaking process. This enjoyable course coaches and guides learners through to the completion of a short film; from a fun and interactive group discussion, an idea will transform into a creative keepsake for everyone involved.

As well as a springboard into a career in media, these courses often help young people find their confidence and motivation.

Learning Outcomes:

Increased confidence, creative problem-solving, team-working skills, an introduction to technical filmmaking and social media distribution.

Media Production -

The Seed Filmmaking Academy


In an ever-changing world of digital technology, schools and colleges are recognising the need for their teaching staff to understand the scope of social media. Online platforms can be used to support learner development and improve employability skills. We offer a half-day training programme

to teaching staff, giving an overview of social media to aid understanding of its application and potential.

Learning Outcomes:

Knowledge of different social media platforms and how they can support learners; an introduction to online safety and the impact of social media on future opportunities.

Staff Development Training -

How Social Media Can Support Teaching & Learning


We are moving into an era where digital developments are overtaking traditional methods of job application. An effective online presence is now a valuable means for networking around jobs and opportunities. In this training programme, we introduce learners to the possibilities of using digital

technology for job searching and careers advice, and provide a step-by-step guide to the setting up of accounts and the use of different platforms.

Learning Outcomes:

An understanding of setting up appropriate accounts; an introduction to online navigation; an understanding of the importance of social media privacy settings and using digital technology to support job searching and careers information.


- 3 x 3-hour programmes

- Maximum group size: 12 on-site, 7 at the Seed Creative Hub

- Must have access to a PC suite with on-site delivery (1 PC per person)

Cost

- Half Day: £150 plus VAT

- Full Day: £250 plus VAT

- Evenings after 6pm hourly rate: £37.50 + VAT
