Section C: Task 10

Explanation of choice of genre.

• The tile of my magazine is ‘Beatz’ because it fits in with my genre. I chose to base my magazine on the genre of hip-hop because I enjoy listening to hip-hop music, and I feel that hip-hop artists are inspiring. My target audience is teenager between the ages of 15-19, I chose this age range because I think it would be suited to the genre. Also, teenagers between that age range are most likely to read a hip-hop magazine.

Initial ideas about the coverAll these magazine covers have one thing in common, they all relate

to their target audience. Some of these magazines covers are very simple but they attract the target audience. That’s what I am focusing on doing, also with a little edge.

Initial ideas about the content

For my Content page I would to have one main image, and 2-3 other images surrounding the texts. I think this would best suite my genre and target audience.

Initial ideas about the DPS

My initial idea for the DPS is to have one page with an image of the person being interviewed, and the other page will have the interview on there. I will also have a main headline of the title and I will also use pull quotes to attract the target audience

Initial ideas about the photographs

For my cover I am going to use a mediums close up, from the shoulders up wards.

For my DPS I’m going to use one main image and a couple of images surrounding the texts

For my content page I’m going to use one medium shot and a couple of smaller medium shots surrounding the texts.
