1.04 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

A. This section covers the furnishing and installation of a complete automatic Rytec Pharma Slide fiberglass sliding door system. The Rytec high performance fiberglass sliding door includes operator, track, door panels and activating devices as required for installation as shown and specified.

1.05 SUBMITTALS

A. Submit the following:

1. Shop Drawings: Rytec will submit shop drawings for the fabrication and installation for the Rytec

Pharma Slide fiberglass door and associated components of the work. Indicate anchors, joint system, hardware and other components not included in manufacture’s standard data.

2. Product Data: Rytec will submit product data and standard details for the Rytec Pharma Slide

Fiberglass door, including fabrication, finishing hardware, operators, accessories and other components of the work. Include wiring schematics, parts lists, maintenance instructions, and certified test data (when required).

3. Samples: Submit samples of door panel material. Construction of fiberglass panel gel cote skin covered in a white urethane coating, seamless with flush edges. Internal construction fiberglass reinforced polymer pultrusion, insulation 1.5” polystyrene foam, providing structural integrity, stability and quite operation. Panel construction provides a water resistant product.

4. Installation: Rytec will furnish templates, diagrams, and data to fabricators and/or installers of

related door installation work, as needed for the installation of the automatic Rytec Pharma Slide fiberglass sliding door.

1.06 MAINTENANCE DATA

A. Maintenance Data: Planned Maintenance recommended schedule is included in the owner’s

manual frequency requirements for lubrication, periodic adjustments and scheduled maintenance. Manual also includes manufactures data sheets, and equipment interconnection diagrams.

1.07 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

A. Electrical components U.L. listed. B. Electrical enclosure NEMA rated. C. Drive system manufactured in ISO 9001 registered facility.

1.08 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. UL 325: Provide powered door operators to comply with UL 325, Electrical Door, Drapery, Gate,

Louver and Window Operators and Systems. B. Manufacture’s qualifications: Provide units produced by a firm with successful experience in the

fabrication of automatic doors of the type required for this project. C. Installers qualifications: Engage an installer who is an authorized representative of the automatic

door manufacturer for both the installation and maintenance of the type of units required for this project.

1.09 FIELD MEASUREMENTS

A. Verify actual dimensions/openings by field measurements before fabrication and record on shop

drawings. Coordinate with fabrication and construction schedule to avoid construction delays.

1.10 COORDINATION

A. Coordinate installation with mechanical and electrical contractors.

1.11 PRODUCT HANDLING

A. All materials shall arrive in the manufacture’s original sealed, labeled containers. B. Store materials in a dry, protected, well vented area. Report damaged material immediately to the

delivering carrier and note such damage on the carrier’s freight bill of lading. C. Remove all protective materials after installation.

1.12 JOB SITE CONDITIONS

A. Verify other trades are complete before installing the Rytec high performance fiberglass sliding door. B. Mounting surfaces shall be plumb, straight and secure; substrates shall be of proper dimension and

material. C. Refer to Rytec documents, shop drawings and installation instructions. D. Coordinate installation with electrical work. E. Observe all appropriate OSHA safety guidelines for this work.

1.13 WARRANTY

A. Rytec Corporation warrants the Pharma Slide automatic fiberglass door (product) sold to the buyer will be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of shipment of the product from the Rytec plant. Electrical components are warranted for a period of ninety (90) days from the shipment date.

PART 2 – PRODUCTS 2.01 PRODUCTS

A. The automatic fiberglass sliding door(s) furnished and installed shall be of type(s) and size(s) specified as indicated on plans by Rytec Corporation, Model PS11012 Pharma-Slide Fiberglass Door System.

B. No substitution shall be considered unless written request for approval has been submitted by the bidder and has been received by the architect at least (10) days prior to the date for receipt of bids.

Each request shall include the name of the materials to be substituted and complete description of the substitute, if a similar existing project is available photographs, scope of work and any other necessary information needed for evaluation.

2.02 MATERIALS

A. Door Panel: Water resistant construction withstanding industry standard of 0.10 in H20 air pressure. Internal construction fiberglass reinforced polymer tubing and 1.5” insulation block (polystyrene foam), bonded on both sides under pressure providing structural integrity, and quite operation. Construction of fiberglass face skins consist of a fiberglass laminate manufactured by the Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process. Panel face skins covered in a white urethane coating, seamless with flush edges. Outside dimensions shall conform to hardware reinforcement requirements and overall door thickness of 1.75 inches. Panel construction provides water resistance and easy cleaning. Fiberglass panels will meet or exceed the minimum standards set forth by the following organizations unless standards are modified or exceeded by this specification:

1. Composite Fabricators Association (CFA). 2. Composites Institute.

B. Side Frames: Shall be #4 finish 18 gauge 304 stainless steel. Engineered for easy cleaning with

minimal fasteners for easy removal. Stainless side frames, hood fully encloses operator and moving internal parts. Non-marking grey vinyl gasket material creates a full perimeter seal.

C. Head Assembly: Hood material shall be #4 finish 18 gauge 304 stainless steel. Head assembly

continuous extruded aluminum 6063T-5 alloy.

D. Panel Trolleys: Each sliding door panel shall be suspended from an overhead track by (2) 2-1/2” diameter nylon wheels with precision steel lifetime lubricated ball bearing centers. The sliding door(s) shall be held on the track by (2) 7/8” diameter nylon anti-riser wheels. The roller track shall be field replaceable and shall be isolated between a bed of rubber for smooth and quiet operation. A factory adjusted cantilever support pivot assembly shall support each sliding door panel. The door panel shall have a ½”+ height adjustment as required by field conditions.

E. Drive System: Drive system shall consist of a gearless direct drive AC asynchronous 1/8hp motor

with a frequency converter to control door speeds and a self-learning TCP microprocessor control unit. The direct drive system shall include an integrated distance measuring system (encoder) that shall protect external interference to guarantee maximum operational performance. Provide 120/240VAC, 5 amp single phase power supply minimum to electrical door operator.

Option: An optional drive system is available for highly corrosive environments. Stainless and dust proof.

F. TCP Microprocessor Control Unit: The TCP control system shall monitor doorway holding photoeye beams, door position, activators, and motor temperature. The microprocessor control shall perform continuous self-diagnostic system check and display and faults by flashing LED’s on the external function control panel. The microprocessor and the integrated distance measuring system (encoder) shall calibrate the opening and closing check positions and also the full open and closed position of the door system.

G. Safety Photoeyes: Electric photoeyes shall be factory installed at 24” and 48” from floor. When a

photoeye is interrupted the door will reverse and remain open until the photoeye is no longer interrupted. The photoeyes are disabled when the door is in the closed position. The microprocessor monitors the photoeyes every 20 seconds and before each close cycle. If a fault is detected the door(s) will close in a creep speed.

H. Obstruction reversal: The drive system shall reverse when maximum force of 28lbs. is exerted

prevent the door from closing. The door(s) shall recycle open if an object is encountered during the closing cycle. The microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed on the next closing cycle. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) will recycle open. The door(s) shall recycle a total of five (5) at which time a new calibration run shall take place. If an object is encountered while opening, the door(s) will stop, reverse direction one (1) inch, time out and close. The next opening the microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) shall stop, reverse direction one (1) inch, time out and close. The door(s) shall recycle a total of three times at which time a new calibration run shall take place. Option: An auxiliary power supply for emergency opening in a power failure is available.

I. Door Travel adjustments: The five position function control panel shall provide the means to make the following door travel adjustments; opening and closing speeds, hold open time for full door opening width, hold open time for reduced door opening width, reduced door opening width size and manual operation(free wheeling). The microprocessor shall optimize all other motion setting such as, acceleration and braking distances. Control panel access can be protected against unauthorized use by means of an optional code lock.

J. Travel Speed: Opens and closes at up to 60 inches per second; variable speed settings

K. Electric Controls: Troubleshooting keypad will be furnished that will allow for self diagnostics.

L. Manual Release: Door can be moved easily under power failure.

M. Remote Key Pad: (Optional)

N. Color: All components factory finished. Color White

O. Interlocking: Available for pairs or multiple door systems

P. Locking: Header mounted locking for future or immediate physical locking can be provided.

PART 3 – EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION

A. Verify that opening sizes, tolerances, and conditions are acceptable. 3.02 INSTALLATION

A. Install door unit assembly in accordance with manufacture’s instructions.

B. Use anchorage devices to securely fasten assembly to wall construction and building framing without distortion or stress.

C. Fit and align assembly including hardware; level to plumb to provide smooth operation.

D. Coordinate installation of electrical service. Complete wiring from disconnect to unit components.

3.03 ADJUSTING

A. Adjust door and operating assemblies. B. Test and adjust doors, if necessary, for proper operation.

3.04 CLEANING

Internal construction bolted aluminum extrusion and 1.5” insulation block (polystyrene foam), bonded on both sides under pressure providing structural integrity, and quite operation. Construction of the skin Kydex® seamless with flush edges. Outside dimensions shall conform to hardware reinforcement requirements and overall door thickness of 1.6 inches. Panel construction provides water resistance and easy cleaning. Kydex® panels will meet or exceed minimum standards.

B. Side Frames: Shall be #4 finish 18 gauge (.048”) 304 stainless steel. Engineered for easy

cleaning with minimal fasteners for easy removal. Stainless side frames, hood fully encloses operator and moving internal parts. Non-marking grey vinyl gasket material creates a full perimeter seal.

A. Door Panel: Water resistant construction withstanding industry standard of 0.10 in H20 air

pressure. Door skins shall be 16 gauge (.080”), corrosion and impact resistant thermoplastic alloy. Finished texture of the face sheet shall be smooth for cleaning. Standard color is white however; other colors are available on request. Internal construction bolted aluminum extrusion and 1.5” insulation block (polystyrene foam), bonded on both sides under pressure providing structural integrity, and quite operation. Construction of the skin Kydex® seamless with flush edges. Outside dimensions shall conform to hardware reinforcement requirements and overall door thickness of 1.6 inches. Panel construction provides water resistance and easy cleaning. Kydex® panels will meet or exceed minimum standards.

B. Side Frames: Shall be #4 finish 18 gauge (.048”) 304 stainless steel. Engineered for easy

cleaning with minimal fasteners for easy removal. Stainless side frames, hood fully encloses operator and moving internal parts. Non-marking grey vinyl gasket material creates a full perimeter seal.

C. Head Assembly: Hood material shall be #4 finish 18 gauge (.048”) 304 stainless steel. Head

assembly continuous extruded aluminum 6063T-5 alloy.

D. Panel Trolleys: Each sliding door panel shall be suspended from an overhead track by (2) 2-1/2” diameter nylon wheels with precision steel lifetime lubricated ball bearing centers. The sliding door(s) shall be held on the track by (2) 7/8” diameter nylon anti-riser wheels. The roller track shall be field replaceable and shall be isolated between a bed of rubber for smooth and quiet operation. A factory adjusted cantilever support pivot assembly shall support each sliding door panel. The door panel shall have a ½”+ height adjustment as required by field conditions.

E. Drive System: Drive system shall consist of a gearless direct drive AC asynchronous 1/8hp motor

with a frequency converter to control door speeds and a self-learning TCP microprocessor control unit. The direct drive system shall include an integrated distance measuring system (encoder) that shall protect external interference to guarantee maximum operational performance. Provide 120/240VAC, 5 amp single phase power supply minimum to electrical door operator.

Option: An optional drive system is available for highly corrosive environments. Stainless and dust proof.

F. TCP Microprocessor Control Unit: The TCP control system shall monitor doorway holding photoeye beams, door position, activators, and motor temperature. The microprocessor control shall perform continuous self-diagnostic system check and display and faults by flashing LED’s on the external function control panel. The microprocessor and the integrated distance measuring system (encoder) shall calibrate the opening and closing check positions and also the full open and closed position of the door system.

G. Safety Photoeyes: Electric photoeyes shall be factory installed at 24” and 48” from floor. When a

photoeye is interrupted the door will reverse and remain open until the photoeye is no longer interrupted. The photoeyes are disabled when the door is in the closed position. The microprocessor monitors the photoeyes every 20 seconds and before each close cycle. If a fault is detected the door(s) will close in a creep speed.

H. Obstruction reversal: The drive system shall reverse when maximum force of 28lbs. is exerted

prevent the door from closing. The door(s) shall recycle open if an object is encountered during the closing cycle. The microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed on the next closing cycle. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) will recycle open. The door(s) shall recycle a total of five(5) at which time a new calibration run shall take place. If an object is encountered while opening, the door(s) will stop, reverse direction one(1) inch, time out and close. The next opening the microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed. 4. Installation: Rytec will furnish templates, diagrams, and data to fabricators and/or installers of

1.06 MAINTENANCE DATA

A. Maintenance Data: Planned Maintenance recommended schedule is included in the owner’s

manual frequency requirements for lubrication, periodic adjustments and scheduled maintenance. Manual also includes manufactures data sheets, and equipment interconnection diagrams.

1.13 WARRANTY

A. Rytec Corporation warrants the Pharma Slide automatic fiberglass door (product) sold to the buyer will be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of shipment of the product from the Rytec plant. Electrical components are warranted for a period of ninety (90) days from the shipment date.

PART 2 – PRODUCTS 2.01 PRODUCTS

A. The automatic fiberglass sliding door(s) furnished and installed shall be of type(s) and size(s) specified as indicated on plans by Rytec Corporation, Model PS11011 Pharma-Slide Fiberglass Door System.

B. No substitution shall be considered unless written request for approval has been submitted by the bidder and has been received by the architect at least (10) days prior to the date for receipt of bids. Each request shall include the name of the materials to be substituted and complete description of the substitute, if a similar existing project is available photographs, scope of work and any other necessary information needed for evaluation.

2.02 MATERIALS

A. Door Panel: Water resistant construction withstanding industry standard of 0.10 in H20 air pressure. Internal construction fiberglass reinforced polymer tubing and 1.5” insulation block (polystyrene foam), bonded on both sides under pressure providing structural integrity, and quite operation. Construction of fiberglass face skins consist of a fiberglass laminate manufactured by the Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process. Panel face skins are 0.125 inches gel cote, covered in a white urethane coating, seamless with flush edges. Outside dimensions shall conform to hardware reinforcement requirements and overall door thickness of 1.75 inches. Panel construction provides water resistance and easy cleaning. Fiberglass panels will meet or exceed the minimum standards set forth by the following organizations unless standards are modified or exceeded by this specification:

1. Composite Fabricators Association (CFA). 2. Composites Institute.

B. Side Frames: Shall be #4 finish 18 gauge 304 stainless steel. Engineered for easy cleaning with minimal fasteners for easy removal. Stainless side frames, hood fully encloses operator and moving internal parts. Non-marking grey vinyl gasket material creates a full perimeter seal.

C. Head Assembly: Hood material shall be #4 finish 18 gauge 304 stainless steel. Head assembly

continuous extruded aluminum 6063T-5 alloy.

D. Panel Trolleys: Each sliding door panel shall be suspended from an overhead track by (2) 2-1/2”

diameter nylon wheels with precision steel lifetime lubricated ball bearing centers. The sliding door(s) shall be held on the track by (2) 7/8” diameter nylon anti-riser wheels. The roller track shall be field replaceable and shall be isolated between a bed of rubber for smooth and quiet operation. A factory adjusted cantilever support pivot assembly shall support each sliding door panel. The door panel shall have a ½”+ height adjustment as required by field conditions.

E. Drive System: Drive system shall consist of a gearless direct drive AC asynchronous 1/8hp motor

with a frequency converter to control door speeds and a self-learning TCP microprocessor control unit. The direct drive system shall include an integrated distance measuring system (encoder) that shall protect external interference to guarantee maximum operational performance. Provide 120/240VAC, 5 amp single phase power supply minimum to electrical door operator. Option: An optional drive system is available for highly corrosive environments. Stainless and dust proof.

F. TCP Microprocessor Control Unit: The TCP control system shall monitor doorway holding

photoeye beams, door position, activators, and motor temperature. The microprocessor control shall perform continuous self-diagnostic system check and display and faults by flashing LED’s on the external function control panel. The microprocessor and the integrated distance measuring system (encoder) shall calibrate the opening and closing check positions and also the full open and closed position of the door system.

G. Safety Photoeyes: Electric photoeyes shall be factory installed at 24” and 48” from floor. When a

photoeye is interrupted the door will reverse and remain open until the photoeye is no longer interrupted. The photoeyes are disabled when the door is in the closed position. The microprocessor monitors the photoeyes every 20 seconds and before each close cycle. If a fault is detected the door(s) will close in a creep speed.

H. Obstruction reversal: The drive system shall reverse when maximum force of 28lbs. is exerted

prevent the door from closing. The door(s) shall recycle open if an object is encountered during the closing cycle. The microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed on the next closing cycle. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) will recycle open. The door(s) shall recycle a total of five(5) at which time a new calibration run shall take place. If an object is encountered while opening, the door(s) will stop, reverse direction one(1) inch, time out and close. The next opening the microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) shall stop, reverse direction one(1) inch, time out and close. The door(s) shall recycle a total of three times at which time a new calibration run shall take place. Option: An auxiliary power supply for emergency opening in a power failure is available.

A. Door Panel: Water resistant construction withstanding industry standard of 0.10 in H20 air

pressure. Door skins shall be 16 gauge (.080”), corrosion and impact resistant thermoplastic alloy. Finished texture of the face sheet shall be smooth for cleaning. Standard color is white however; other colors are available on request. Internal construction bolted aluminum extrusion and 1.5” insulation block (polystyrene foam), bonded on both sides under pressure providing structural integrity, and quite operation. Construction of the skin Kydex® seamless with flush edges. Outside dimensions shall conform to hardware reinforcement requirements and overall door thickness of 1.6 inches. Panel construction provides water resistance and easy cleaning. Kydex® panels will meet or exceed minimum standards.

B. Side Frames: Shall be #4 finish 18 gauge (.048”) 304 stainless steel. Engineered for easy

cleaning with minimal fasteners for easy removal. Stainless side frames, hood fully encloses operator and moving internal parts. Non-marking grey vinyl gasket material creates a full perimeter seal.

C. Head Assembly: Hood material shall be #4 finish 18 gauge (.048”) 304 stainless steel. Head

assembly continuous extruded aluminum 6063T-5 alloy.

D. Panel Trolleys: Each sliding door panel shall be suspended from an overhead track by (2-4) 2-1/2” diameter nylon wheels with precision steel lifetime lubricated ball bearing centers. The sliding door(s) shall be held on the track by (2) 7/8” diameter nylon anti-riser wheels. The roller track shall be field replaceable and shall be isolated between a bed of rubber for smooth and quiet operation. A factory adjusted cantilever support pivot assembly shall support each sliding door panel. The door panel shall have a ½”+ height adjustment as required by field conditions.

E. Drive System: Drive system shall consist of a gearless direct drive AC asynchronous 1/8hp motor

with a frequency converter to control door speeds and a self-learning TCP microprocessor control unit. The direct drive system shall include an integrated distance measuring system (encoder) that shall protect external interference to guarantee maximum operational performance. Provide 120/240VAC, 5 amp single phase power supply minimum to electrical door operator.

Option: An optional drive system is available for highly corrosive environments. Stainless and dust proof.

F. TCP Microprocessor Control Unit: The TCP control system shall monitor doorway holding photoeye beams, door position, activators, and motor temperature. The microprocessor control shall perform continuous self-diagnostic system check and display and faults by flashing LED’s on the external function control panel. Torque shall be factory set as prescribed by ANSI A156.10. The microprocessor and the integrated distance measuring system (encoder) shall calibrate the opening and closing check positions and also the full open and closed position of the door system.

G. Safety Photoeyes: Electric photoeyes shall be factory installed at 24” and 48” from floor. When a

photoeye is interrupted the door will reverse and remain open until the photoeye is no longer interrupted. The photoeyes are disabled when the door is in the closed position. The microprocessor monitors the photoeyes every 20 seconds and before each close cycle. If a fault is detected the door(s) will close in a creep speed.

H. Obstruction reversal: The drive system shall reverse when maximum force of 28lbs. is exerted

prevent the door from closing. The door(s) shall recycle open if an object is encountered during the closing cycle. The microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed on the next closing cycle. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) will recycle open. The door(s) shall recycle a total of five(5) at which time a new calibration run shall take place. If an object is encountered while opening, the door(s) will stop, reverse direction one(1) inch, time out and close. The next opening the microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) shall stop, reverse direction one(1) inch, time out and close. The door(s) shall recycle a total of three times at which time a new calibration run shall take place. Option: An auxiliary power supply for emergency opening in a power failure is available.

I. Door Travel adjustments: The five position function control panel shall provide the means to make the following door travel adjustments; opening and closing speeds, hold open time for full door opening width, hold open time for reduced door opening width, reduced door opening width size and manual operation(free wheeling). The microprocessor shall optimize all other motion setting such as, acceleration and braking distances. Control panel access can be protected against unauthorized use by means of an optional code lock.

J. Travel Speed: Opens and closes at up to 30 inches per second; variable speed settings

K. Electric Controls: Troubleshooting keypad will be furnished that will allow for self diagnostics.

L. Manual Release: Door can be moved easily under power failure.

A. Manufacture’s qualifications: Provide units produced by a firm with successful experience in the

1.05 SUBMITTALS

A. Submit the following:

1. Shop Drawings: Rytec will submit shop drawings for the fabrication and installation for the Rytec Pharma Slide stainless steel door and associated components of the work. Indicate anchors, joint system, hardware and other components not included in manufacture’s standard data.

2. Product Data: Rytec will submit product data and standard details for the Rytec Pharma Slide

stainless steel door, including fabrication, finishing hardware, operators, accessories and other components of the work. Include wiring schematics, parts lists, maintenance instructions, and certified test data (when required).

3. Samples: Submit samples of door panel material. Constructed of Stainless steel skin, seamless with flush edges; Internal aluminum extrusion, insulation 1.5” polystyrene foam. Construction provides structural integrity, stability and quite operation. Panel construction provides a water resistant product.

4. Installation: Rytec will furnish templates, diagrams, and data to fabricators and/or installers of

related door installation work, as needed for the installation of the automatic Rytec Pharma Slide stainless steel sliding door.

1.06 MAINTENANCE DATA

A. Maintenance Data: Planned Maintenance recommended schedule is included in the owner’s

manual frequency requirements for lubrication, periodic adjustments and scheduled maintenance. Manual also includes manufactures data sheets, and equipment interconnection diagrams.

1.07 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

A. Electrical components U.L. listed. B. Electrical enclosure NEMA rated. C. Drive system manufactured in ISO 9001 registered facility.

1.08 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. UL 325: Provide powered door operators to comply with UL 325, Electrical Door, Drapery, Gate,

Louver and Window Operators and Systems. B. Manufacture’s qualifications: Provide units produced by a firm with successful experience in the

fabrication of automatic doors of the type required for this project.

C. Installers qualifications: Engage an installer who is an authorized representative of the automatic door manufacturer for both the installation and maintenance of the type of units required for this project.

1.09 FIELD MEASUREMENTS

A. Verify actual dimensions/openings by field measurements before fabrication and record on shop drawings. Coordinate with fabrication and construction schedule to avoid construction delays.

1.10 COORDINATION

A. Coordinate installation with mechanical and electrical contractors.

1.11 PRODUCT HANDLING

A. All materials shall arrive in the manufacture’s original sealed, labeled containers. B. Store materials in a dry, protected, well vented area. Report damaged material immediately to the

delivering carrier and note such damage on the carrier’s freight bill of lading. C. Remove all protective materials after installation.

1.12 JOB SITE CONDITIONS

A. Verify other trades are complete before installing the Rytec high performance stainless steel sliding

door. B. Mounting surfaces shall be plumb, straight and secure; substrates shall be of proper dimension and

material. C. Refer to Rytec documents, shop drawings and installation instructions. D. Coordinate installation with electrical work. E. Observe all appropriate OSHA safety guidelines for this work.

1.13 WARRANTY

A. Rytec Corporation warrants the Pharma Slide automatic stainless steel door (product) sold to the

buyer will be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of shipment of the product from the Rytec plant. Electrical components are warranted for a period of ninety (90) days from the shipment date.

PART 2 – PRODUCTS 2.01 PRODUCTS

A. The automatic stainless steel sliding door(s) furnished and installed shall be of type(s) and size(s) specified as indicated on plans by Rytec Corporation, Model PS22011 Pharma-Slide stainless steel Door System.

B. No substitution shall be considered unless written request for approval has been submitted by the bidder and has been received by the architect at least (10) days prior to the date for receipt of bids.

Each request shall include the name of the materials to be substituted and complete description of the substitute, if a similar existing project is available photographs, scope of work and any other necessary information needed for evaluation.

2.02 MATERIALS

A. Door Panel: Water resistant construction withstanding industry standard of 0.10 in H20 air

pressure. Stainless steel #4 finish 18 gauge (.048”) 304 stainless steel. Internal construction bolted aluminum extrusions and 1.5” insulation block (polystyrene foam), bonded on both sides under pressure providing structural integrity, and quite operation. Construction of the skin stainless steel seamless with flush edges. Outside dimensions shall conform to hardware reinforcement requirements and overall door thickness of 1.6 inches. Panel construction provides water resistance and easy cleaning. Stainless steel panels will meet or exceed minimum standards.

B. Side Frames: Shall be #4 finish 18 gauge (.048”) 304 stainless steel. Engineered for easy

cleaning with minimal fasteners for easy removal. Stainless side frames, hood fully encloses operator and moving internal parts. Non-marking grey vinyl gasket material creates a full perimeter seal.

C. Head Assembly: Hood material shall be #4 finish 18 gauge (.048”) 304 stainless steel. Head

assembly also #4 finish 18 gauge stainless steel.

D. Panel Trolleys: Each sliding door panel shall be suspended from an overhead track by (2) 2-1/2” diameter nylon wheels with precision steel lifetime lubricated ball bearing centers. The sliding door(s) shall be held on the track by (2) 7/8” diameter nylon anti-riser wheels. The roller track shall be field replaceable and shall be isolated between a bed of rubber for smooth and quiet operation. A factory adjusted cantilever support pivot assembly shall support each sliding door panel. The door panel shall have a ½”+ height adjustment as required by field conditions.

E. Drive System: Drive system shall consist of a gearless direct drive AC asynchronous 1/8hp motor

with a frequency converter to control door speeds and a self-learning TCP microprocessor control unit. The direct drive system shall include an integrated distance measuring system (encoder) that shall protect external interference to guarantee maximum operational performance. Provide 120/240VAC, 5 amp single phase power supply minimum to electrical door operator. Option: An optional drive system is available for highly corrosive environments. Stainless and dust proof.

F. TCP Microprocessor Control Unit: The TCP control system shall monitor doorway holding

photoeye beams, door position, activators, and motor temperature. The microprocessor control shall perform continuous self-diagnostic system check and display and faults by flashing LED’s on the external function control panel. The microprocessor and the integrated distance measuring system (encoder) shall calibrate the opening and closing check positions and also the full open and closed position of the door system.

G. Safety Photoeyes: Electric photoeyes shall be factory installed at 24” and 48” from floor. When a

photoeye is interrupted the door will reverse and remain open until the photoeye is no longer interrupted. The photoeyes are disabled when the door is in the closed position. The

microprocessor monitors the photoeyes every 20 seconds and before each close cycle. If a fault is detected the door(s) will close in a creep speed.

H. Obstruction reversal: The drive system shall reverse when maximum force of 28lbs. is exerted prevent the door from closing. The door(s) shall recycle open if an object is encountered during the closing cycle. The microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed on the next closing cycle. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) will recycle open. The door(s) shall recycle a total of five(5) at which time a new calibration run shall take place. If an object is encountered while opening, the door(s) will stop, reverse direction one(1) inch, time out and close. The next opening the microprocessor shall search for that object at 50% speed. If the obstruction is encountered again the door(s) shall stop, reverse direction one(1) inch, time out and close. The door(s) shall recycle a total of three times at which time a new calibration run shall take place. Option: An auxiliary power supply for emergency opening in a power failure is available.

I. Door Travel adjustments: The five position function control panel shall provide the means to make the following door travel adjustments; opening and closing speeds, hold open time for full door opening width, hold open time for reduced door opening width, reduced door opening width size and manual operation(free wheeling). The microprocessor shall optimize all other motion setting such as, acceleration and braking distances. Control panel access can be protected against unauthorized use by means of an optional code lock.

J. Travel Speed: Opens and closes at up to 30 inches per second; variable speed settings

K. Electric Controls: Troubleshooting keypad will be furnished that will allow for self diagnostics. L. Manual Release: Door can be moved easily under power failure. M. Remote Key Pad: (Optional) N. Color: All components factory finished.

O. Interlocking: Available for pairs or multiple door systems

P. Locking: Header mounted locking for future or immediate physical locking can be provided. PART 3 – EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION

A. Verify that opening sizes, tolerances, and conditions are acceptable. 3.02 INSTALLATION

A. Install door unit assembly in accordance with manufacture’s instructions. B. Use anchorage devices to securely fasten assembly to wall construction and building framing

without distortion or stress.

C. Fit and align assembly including hardware; level to plumb to provide smooth operation. D. Coordinate installation of electrical service. Complete wiring from disconnect to unit components.

3.03 ADJUSTING

A. Adjust door and operating assemblies. B. Test and adjust doors, if necessary, for proper operation.

3.04 CLEANING

A. Follow detailed cleaning instructions outlined in Pharma-Slide™ Owners Manual. 3.05 CONTACT INFORMATION
