- application of SCION (New Zealand) to join Action as non-COST country approved (email of January 14th, 2009)
- reimbursement of Martina Pöll (TU Wien, Action Secretary) for the Steering Committee Meeting in Potsdam on February 16th, 2009 approved (email of January 8th, 2009)
- support grant for Spring School on 'Wood at the microscale: structural and mechanical fundamentals‘ in Vienna in May 2009 amounting to € 3000 approved (email of February 2nd, 2009)

Workshop on single fibre testing and modelling in cooperation with Paper Mechanics Cluster at Innventia (STFi):
November 4-5 in Stockholm
in the framework of a large project with industrial participants from the papermaking industry organized by Paper Mechanics Cluster @ Innventia (formerly STFi) (local organizer: Petri Mäkelä)
objective: collect knowledge and identify state-of-the-art on micromechanical testing, particularly fibre testing
scientific programme:
- day 1: 6-8 invited lectures of 45-60 min. (members of FP0802 & external experts)
- day 2: WG meetings, involvement of lecturers, poster presentations by Action members
