DIRECT SCHOOL ADMISSION – JUNIOR COLLEGE (DSA – JC) • Each JC or institution will admit students according to

its own merit-based admission criteria (academic and / or non-academic criteria), based on the students’ personal qualities and the areas of focus (such as leadership, science, music, sports) that the JC or institution would like to emphasise.

EARLY ADMISSIONS EXERCISE (EAE)

• Aptitude-based admissions exercise that allows students to apply for and receive conditional offers for admission to polytechnics prior to receiving their final grades.

EARLY ADMISSIONS EXERCISE (EAE) • Allows polytechnics to select students based on aptitudes and

interests before O-Level results are released

• Focus on course-specific aptitudes and interests

• Non-course-specific achievements

e.g. sports, leadership, arts, entrepreneurship and community service also considered

participation in relevant Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), Advanced Elective Modules (AEMs), Applied Learning Programmes (ALP)

• Evidence of students’ interests and aptitudes eg CCA records, portfolios

• Various modes of assessment, e.g. interviews, aptitude tests, portfolios, depending on polytechnic and course

• Still required to meet polytechnic admissions criteria

• Select the subject combination in which will provide you the widest choice of courses for post-secondary courses

• Having more subjects DOES NOT guarantee getting a better L1R5/ L1R4
