VIRTUAL FLEET WEEK 27-31 July

--- #FleetWeekSeattle ---Virtual Fleet Week takes place online 27-31 July. With the Navy, Coast Guard, andMarine Corps, Fleet Week sponsors Navy League Seattle, Seafair, and the Port ofSeattle are bringing a full slate of interesting and engaging virtual experiences to the publicvia social media, all united by the hashtag #FleetWeekSeattle. A similar approach was usedvery successfully in May for New York's annual Fleet Week.

With the assistance of our volunteers and sponsors, Navy League Seattle iscontributing several events to this year's festivities:

A virtual parade of ships, featuring images and information from 40 years of shipsvisiting the Seattle waterfront (Monday 27 July); A virtual Sea Service Awards, focusing on outstanding service members here inthe Puget Sound region (Tuesday 28 July and throughout the week); "Ask the Admirals" (Tuesday 28 July - see Council invitation below); and A series of cameo appearances by area leaders and others to show ourappreciation for the Sea Services (throughout the week).A video highlighting the Sea Cadets (during the week).

Details on all events, including timing and schedules, will be published as they becomeavailable on the Navy League Seattle Facebook page and at the Seafair website.

New this year to help us support Virtual Fleet Week is the Navy League SeattleInstagram page, where we will feature posts and photos throughout the week.

ASK THE ADMIRALSSeattle Council members are invited to participate in "Ask the Admirals," an excitingopportunity to engage with senior Sea Service leadership in the region, co-hosted byNavy League Seattle and World Trade Center Seattle. Rear Admiral Vogt, CommanderCoast Guard District 13, and Rear Admiral Barnett, Commander Navy RegionNorthwest, will be responding to questions from audience members during a live onlinemeeting (webinar).

"Ask the Admirals" will take place via a one-hour webinar on Tuesday 28 July startingat 1000, and all participation will be online. The recorded event will be posted in socialmedia for the general public as part of Virtual Fleet Week programming on Thursday 30July.

Members of the World Trade Center and Seattle Navy League are invited to attend. Attendees will be asked to submit questions in advance, which will then be presentedby the webinar moderator to the Admirals during the session.
