Intramural football a- gain had some hard hitting and good games last week- end. The Beagles, after a couple of weeks rest, did the duty on the Mod Squad, 41-7. The Jets won due to a forfeit by the Chargers, while F' Troop dropped from the undefeated ranks at the hands of the Hot Nuts, 14-12. The F' Troop -Hot Nuts game was the best gaem played so far this season. The Hot Nuts scored the winning TD with only a few minutes remain- ing in the second half. F' Troop was threatening to score when the Hot Nuts came up with a key inter- ception and ran out the clock. So, with only a few weeks remaining to play, the big game will be between the Beaqles and the Jets.

In Inter-fraternity games, Alpha Eta Rho dropped a close one to Delta Chi, 20-18. This was definitely a clean, hard-played game. Much credit is due both teams for outstanding sportsman- ship. Sigma Phi Delta fi- nally got it together to roll over Sigma Chi Delta, 20-12. There was a ques- tion raised by Gary Spang- ler concerning the length of time allowed for the second half. What Gary Spangler does not under- stand is that the inter- fraternity teams play un- der different rules than do the intramural teams. These rules in the inter- fraternity games are sub- ject to change each week at the discretion of some of the players. I am not permitted to referee these games as I have been told that I am prejudiced. So, Gary, I hop@ this clears up that question for you. ~ l l games are cancelled for this week and will be played November 22nd.

In college football, another team dropped from the undefeated ranks. Au- burn was upset by LSU, 17-9. Tennessee dld what was expected of them: they clobbered Florida, 38-7, much to the chagrin of our editpr, who lost his sec- ond six pack of Michelob to this prognosticator. Stanford had a hard time putting down the charges of uCLA: but finally won, 9-7. What a game that must have been. It looks as though Stanford will be in the Rose Bowl, facing either Ohio State or an outside shot, Notre Dame. In any case, either team would prove to be a well- matched opponent for Stan- ford.

Four major upsets took the spotlight last week- end, as noted before. LSU upset Auburn; Oregon slid by Southern California,

. 10-7. Wake Forrest scored with only seconds rembin- ing to upend North Caroli- na, 14-13; while North- western stopped Purdue, 38-14.

Mike Wise, my hardy as- sistant, flew to Colorado to watch the Air Force- Boston College game. Mike states that the Air Forces defense won the game and is really tough. Poor Mike was disappointed as Boston College was de9eat- ed, 35-10. Michigan re- mained undefeated by trouncing Minnesota, 39-13 Kansas State suprised Ok- lahoma and beat them. 19-14. So. Mississippi, who up-ended "Ole Miss" was literally clobbered by Mississippi State. Missi- ssippi State apprently was not impressed by the win over "Ole Miss and pulled out all the stops and won, 51-15. Game of the week - Auburn vs Florida. The record for this column is 90 wins, 52 losses and two ties for a percentage of .625.

MOUSE ENROLLMENT

BY RON DEVOY

~t last count 521 mice have been enrolled at var- ious colleges and research institutions throughout the nation.

The enrollment was the culmination of a two week drive for the American Cancer Society, sponsored by Alpha Eta Rho at Embry- Riddle.

"Send a mouse to col- lege" buttons and Peter Max posters were sold in the student center. For each thirty-four cents

collected, a cancer re- search mouse was added to the growing list of col- lege freshmen around the country.

~ o t h myself, and the A- merican Cancer Society wish to thank the students of Embry-Riddle and the members of Delta Chi, and Sigma Phi Delta for the enthusiasm that they showed for the cancer drive.

In fact, Hank Toohey 05 Delta Chi showed so mc:h entinusiasm that he is pre- sently enroute to U.C.L.A. with 27 mice.
