Our customers in St. Lucia are not much different from J.E. Bergasse. We are all really looking for ways

to maximize return for every dollar that goes out the door. But, did you know that PRINT is the third largest operating expense in most companies after rent and payroll? Massy United Insurance Silver Sponsors of the 2015 Mango Bowl Regatta

As St Lucia Yacht Club counts down to the fourth Saint Lucia Mango Bowl Regatta, it looks like a bigger and

better event is expected for the island’s popular international yacht race, which takes place in Rodney Bay from November 27th to 29th.

This year, Massy United Insurance continues its collaboration as a main sponsor, along with IGY Rodney Bay Marina and other corporate sponsors. Massy United Insurance has always had a strong bent towards supporting youth and sports activities, but competitive sailing is a relatively new inclusion into their corporate social responsibility strategy in St Lucia.

United Insurance Agents (Saint Lucia) Ltd undergo another successful year of AML Training!

United Insurance Agents (Saint Lucia) Ltd Staff awarded ‘Caribbean Certificate of Insurance Practice’

The staff of United Insurance Agents (Saint Lucia) Ltd were the beneficiaries of Anti-Money Laundering (AML)

training on Tuesday November 3, 2015 from the Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA). Under Schedule 2, Part A of the Money Laundering (Prevention) Act, the staff of insurance companies are required to receive AML training on an annual basis.

The entire staff of United Insurance Agents (Saint Lucia) Ltd., including its directors and sales people, reported for training, which was very ably facilitated by the Director of the Financial Intelligent

Authority (FIA) in person.The topics covered during the training

included:1. A review of St Lucia’s Anti Money

Laundering legislation2. Customer Due Diligence3. High Risk CustomersDuring the training staff were

encouraged to ask questions and many profited the opportunity to seek clarification on topics covered, as well as, other general compliance issues. We take this opportunity to thank the office of the Financial Intelligent Authority for their continued support.

Insurance personnel, Juanita Charles, Sharon Ambrose and Kevin Mathurin were the recipients of the ‘Caribbean

Certificate of Insurance Practice’, from the Association of the Insurance Institutes of the Caribbean. Kevin Mathurin attained the highest score in the Caribbean. The Association of Insurance Institutes of the Caribbean is one of the entities mandated

to train regional insurance personnel. The institute was established as a result of the need for a Caribbean qualification in the region especially since the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) of the UK had forged closer ties with Europe and it was found that the syllabus was becoming more irrelevant to the Caribbean and, more importantly, the cost was becoming prohibitive.
