Over nearly 40 years Lancaster Singers has grown to a 70-strong mixed-voice chamber choir. We are united by our love of music, its

performance and the pursuit of musical excellence.!!We give five or six concerts a year in venues across the North West

ranging from large concert halls, where we perform large scale works with an orchestra to tiny village churches where we may perform

a cappe!a. !!All of us have had a short, informal audition and, although some musical literacy is expected, we believe the variety of our musical

backgrounds adds to the diversity and flexibility of the group. If you are interested in joining us, there are limited vacancies for new

The Season Ahead …

The 2016-17 Season promises to inspire and entertain with an exciting blend of familiar and less-known works.!!A highlight will be November’s concert in St Peter’s cathedral featuring Mozart’s glorious 1779 Coronation Mass, one of his most popular missae breves. !!Our Christmas concerts will be in town at the Storey Institute, while they refurbish the Ashton Memorial. !!March 2017 sees us performing in the more intimate ambience of Lancaster Priory with an eclectic mix of Gjeilo, Bernstein, Monteverdi and Finzi. Next June, we’re really pleased to be returning to Kendal Parish Church after several years’ absence. This concert, featuring Scandinavian music, wil l be repeated the fol lowing day in the wonderful surroundings of Williamson Park.!!We’re sure there’ll be something for everyone in the season’s repertoire and look forward to seeing you!!Chris Haughton!
