It will be in a slightly different format than you are used to due to the changes in learning over the semester. The report will not grade student achievement using the A-E scale but instead will focus on whether the student is Working Towards, Achieving or Working Beyond the outcomes covered over the semester. Teacher comments will focus on English and Maths. The report will also include student attendance, their commitment to learning and identify the next steps in their learning. This helps them maintain a healthy headspace and to engage in both school and the other activites they enjoy doing. TERM 2 ISSUE 8 18th June 2020

Semester One Reports

Semester one reports for all students will be issued at the end of this term. It will be in a

slightly different format than you are used to due to the changes in learning over the

semester. The report will not grade student achievement using the A-E scale but

instead will focus on whether the student is Working Towards, Achieving or Working

Beyond the outcomes covered over the semester. Teacher comments will focus on

English and Maths. The report will also include student attendance, their commitment

to learning and identify the next steps in their learning.

Bedtime Routines

Bedtime routines are extremely important, especially at this time. Limiting screen time

in the evening and an early night sets children up for a great night’s sleep. This helps

them maintain a healthy headspace and to engage in both school and the other

activites they enjoy doing.

Building Works

Major building works

have begun within our

school and will

continue for the next

few months.

We look forward to the

ICAS Writing Test

Due to COVID-19, UNSW Global has made a business decision to cancel ICAS Writing in 2020. The assessment for all other ICAS subjects will take place on their scheduled dates and the ICAS Writing will return in 2021. For those parents who have already placed orders for ICAS Writing, email [email protected] to request a refund.

Please return all overdue library books and readers to school. Students will be receiving overdue notices this week as a reminder to look out and return overdue library books. Also, during home schooling, many guided readers were sent home and it is now time to have a really good look and return these readers to the classroom.

Thank you.

Stay SunSmart this winter!

Even though it's winter, UV can still damage your unprotected skin. In NSW, UV levels are high enough to damage your skin for most months of the year; in northern NSW it's all months of the year.

We have seen COVID-19 restrictions ease across the state which may mean you're out and about more, make sure you continue to use all 5 of sun protection methods when UV is 3 or above - SLIP on sun smart clothing, SLOP on SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, SLAP on a sun smart hat, SEEK shade, and SLIDE on sunglasses.

Check your local sun protection times each day via the SunSmart App.
