I cannot complement our student body, faculty, staff , and community enough for their perseverance through these challenging mes. Here at Seabreeze High we have maintained our focus by providing great experiences for our students throughout the various challenges.

2016-2017 Y earbook Information

Important Informa on our Seabreeze Parents and Students should be aware of.1. Any senior that does not have a picture taken by MPG will not appear in the 2016 Sandcrab yearbook.

2. Seniors don’t delay remember to purchase your ad for the 2017 yearbook today. See Ms. Coy in 2-211 or visit www.seabreezehigh.org for all your ad informa on. The deadline for senior ads is October 18, 2016. All pictures and informa on must be turned in by this date. Do not turn in any irreplaceable or one of a kind pictures.

3. Any senior that would like a baby picture in the yearbook please bring it to Ms. Coy, in 2-211 as soon as possible, spots fi ll up quickly and are on a fi rst come, fi rst serve basis. Write your name in pen on the back of the picture & do not turn in any one of a kind pictures.

4. Yearbooks went on sale for $55.00 during Open House, August 30, 2016. A er Open House they can be purchased during lunch in room 2-211. The price will increase a er December 20, 2016 & again when the yearbooks are distributed.

5. Underclass pictures have been scheduled for October 6-7, 2016 in the auditorium. Students will follow the schedule provided by their teacher. Students do not pay when they have their picture taken. They will receive a proof and can order pictures at that me. Underclass picture make up day is November 8, 2016 in the auditorium lobby.

6. The Senior Panoramic picture will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 7:45 am in the gym. Prepare to arrive on me we will not retake the picture for any missing seniors.

7. All seniors interested in becoming a Senior Spotlight in the yearbook must have a typed resume turned into Ms. Coy, room 2-211, no later than Monday, October 10, 2016 at 3:00 pm.

In an eff ort to make the campus a safer more secure place for all, access to the North student parking lot will be limited to students with current parking permits and will not be u lized for dropping off /picking up students. Parents are to u lize the loop in front of the school to drop off and pick up students. For safety and to minimize usage parents are encouraged to pull as far forward into the loop as possible.

MIDTERM AND REPORT CARDS

The boys cross country team is entering the mid point of the season with 36 hard working athletes. The boys varsity team won the Embry Riddle Invita onal and the JV team placed second. The boys had a fi ne showing at the University of Florida Invita onal, with junior Logan Horning pacing the team with a 12th place fi nish, winning a medal in the process. The team is undefeated in dual, tri and quad meets. 9th and 10th graders are looking forward to the annual Fresh/Soph meet. The team is working hard to prepare for the Conference meet and the upcoming State series. The team has made great strides this season already with many athletes recording personal bests. The team would like to thank parents, school personnel and the community for the tremendous support the team has received this season.

WRITING CHECKS TO SCHOOLS

Your check is welcome at Seabreeze High School. The District recognizes that occasionally a parent may inadvertently overdraw a checking account and a check may be returned by the bank. In order to recover these funds in a private and professional manner, Volusia County Schools has contracted with CHECKredi, a company specializing in the collec on of returned checks.

Each check wri en to the school must be made out to Seabreeze High School with the maker’s name pre-printed on the check (no starter checks) and must include the maker’s physical address and phone number (including area code). Please use blue or black ink.

When a person writes a check to a school or the District, the person wri ng the check agrees that, if the check is returned, it may be re-presented electronically on the same account for the full face amount and a fee established by Florida law.

CHECKredi will contact you by mail and by telephone in order to make arrangements to pay before a emp ng to re-present the check electronically. Payments of the check and fee may also be made online at www.checkredi.com using a credit card, debit card or electronic check without any addi onal fees. For a convenience fee, payments may be made over the telephone at (877) 524-7334 by credit card, debit card, or electronic check. Payments cannot be made at the school or the District.

WRITING CHECKS TO SCHOOLSYour check is welcome at Seabreeze High School. The District recognizes that occasionally a parent may inadvertently overdraw a checking account and a check may be returned by the bank. In order to recover these funds in a private and professional manner, Volusia County Schools has contracted with CHECKredi, a company specializing in the collec on of returned checks.

Each check wri en to the school must be made out to Seabreeze High School with the maker’s name pre-printed on the check (no starter checks) and must include the maker’s physical address and phone number (including area code). Please use blue or black ink.

When a person writes a check to a school or the District, the person wri ng the check agrees that, if the check is returned, it may be re-presented electronically on the same account for the full face amount and a fee established by Florida law.

CHECKredi will contact you by mail and by telephone in order to make arrangements to pay before a emp ng to re-present the check electronically. Payments of the check and fee may also be made online at www.checkredi.com using a credit card, debit card or electronic check without any addi onal fees. For a convenience fee, payments may be made over the telephone at (877) 524-7334 by credit card, debit card, or electronic check. Payments cannot be made at the school or the District.

Wednesday, January 25, 2016 will be the annual Mr. & Miss Seabreeze pageant. This year’s theme is “Nothing Can Stop Us Now”

This year we have 21 of Seabreeze fi nest juniors compe ng for the coveted tles.

Mr. & Miss Seabreeze is produced by seniors that were prior contestants last year. Mrs. Jeane e Oberst is the Director with student producers Hannah Klippel and Sebas an Grubel. Geena Zatalava will once again serve as our stage manager, Nick Edwards will create the Visual effects with ligh ng. Mr. Cli on Benoit, and Mr. Billy Gahagan will direct the technical produc on from the booth.Mr. Grimard and his construc on classes will build our staging.A great evening is sure to be had by all that a end this annual Seabreeze H.S. func on.

Mrs. Silvernail’s 3rd period for the 2016-2017 school year is once again working with Mrs. Eppelheimer’s class. On the fi rst Wednesday of each month, the classes unite, and work on reading skills , life skills , and build new friendships. Some of the ac vi es that have been collaborated upon so far this year are: reading related board games for life skills, learning about Fall facts and doing a leaf prints, and ge ng to know you ac vi es. Other planned events are: read a louds, vocabulary, think pair share and cra s and reading related to holiday themes. Other support for Mrs. Eppelehimer’s class will be items such as a ending and roo ng for the basketball team when they are scheduled to play on campus.

Congratula ons to the following Seabreeze ar sts, Madison Higgs won Best in Show at the Halifax Art Fes val this weekend, she received $400 for this award and Caly Nowviskie won an Award of Excellence and $190. Both Sarah Ku ic and Rachel Maccio won Honorable Men on Awards. Over 1000 pieces of student work were displayed. Congratula ons ar sts!

The 11th Annual High School Showcase event will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the Volusia County Fairground/Tommy Lawrence Arena from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The purpose of the High School Showcase event is for 7th and 8th grade middle school students and their parents to learn about the outstanding programs and career academies available to high school students in Volusia County Schools. 11th ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL SHOWCASE:

The following Center Stage thespians received SUPERIOR ra ngs at Districts: Walker Powell, Madison Larson, Scarle Moran, Laken Giles, Drake Lee, Jon Foege, and Kevin White. Powell and Larson created a powerful drama c scene between young marrieds from the play Dinner With Friends. Moran and Giles both displayed their solo ac ng chops in serious and comedic monologues. Lee, Foege, and White delighted the judges with a comically absurd scene from Conform!, wri en by former long- me Seabreeze theater teacher Reid Conrad. All seven actors will represent Seabreeze Thespian Troupe 1269 at the State Thespian Fes val in Tampa this coming Spring Break. Good luck, Sandcrabs!
