    Enrollment Book: DSU 2019

Prepared by the SDBOR Office of Academic and Research Affairs, this report pro-vides a compendium of data describing recent enrollment trends at Dakota State Uni-versity.1 Identical reports are generated for each regental university, and are intendedto serve as a resource for campus officials for planning and analysis purposes. Supple-mental interactive data are available from the SDBOR Fall Enrollment Dashboard onthe Board of Regents website.

    University Summary

In Fall 2019, DSU reported a total headcount enrollment of 3,268 and a total full-time equiv-alent (FTE) enrollment of 2,063. Table 1 and Figure 1 show basic headcount and FTEfigures for DSU over time.2

  • Enrollment by Student Characteristic

Table 2a splits DSU’s unduplicated headcount totals into two categories: (1) students takingat least one on-campus course from DSU, and (2) students taking off-campus courses fromDSU only. Students taking a combination of on-campus and off-campus courses from DSUare included in the “On” category. Note that students reported in the “Off” category mayhave taken on-campus courses from other universities.

Table 7a provides an alternative representation of DSU headcount by location. In this table, students are duplicated by course location when applicable. For example, a student takingboth an on-campus course from DSU and an off-campus course from DSU will be included ineach respective column below. However, the “All” column continues to show unduplicatedheadcount. As a result, percentage columns show each subgroup’s proportion of the totalstudent population; these proportions will not sum to 100.0 percent.
