The One ProgrammeThe One ProgrammeCappanalea provides components of the One Programme in the core areas of Outdoor Adventure Activities. During your visit to Cappanalea we will support you as a scout leaders in delivering elements of the One Programme. Through the skills sessions we give your scouts plenty of practical experience and opportunities to practice both new and previously learnt or discussed skills. With the use of the tick list we will make it easier for you to take that information back with you to your troop records.

Whether it is a standalone session or a whole week, Cappanalea will tie in your experiences with most elements of the defined adventure skills of Scouting Ireland’s One Programme.

PEAKPEAKPatrol Expedition Adventure Kamp – Is a week long event for selected scouts held in participation with Scouting Ireland. It takes place over Easter at Cappanalea.

Also included are pioneering projects; traditional camp fires, an inter patrol challenge and a day’s tour.

On a Cappanalea Standing Camp the Centre arranges all the staffing; catering; equipment; in course transport and programme requirements. All you and your troop or company have to do, is turn up in Killarney Train Station with your per-sonal gear and we will take care of the rest.

The cost of the Cappanalea Standing Camp is €250 per person

This cost is fully inclusive of all equipment for camping and activities; transport to and from Killarney train station and all other in course travel; the sports complex; and the full programme of adventure sports. There are no additional hidden costs.

The costs of camping at Cappanalea are as follows:

- Camping per person per night: €6.00- Adventure Activities: €20 per person per half-day activity- Bus to/from Killarney (can be arranged at cost)

Cappanalea NCOET can arrange for the transport to and from Killarney Train Station and give assistance and direction on all local arrangements, including food requirements, tours, hiking venues and a wide variety of outdoor adventure activities, including rock climbing; sailing; canoeing; orienteering; kayaking; abseiling and windsurfing.

INSURANCE

Cappanalea provides a comprehensive public liability insurance cover for all its programmes. Personal Accident Insurance cover is now automatically provided to all students participating in centre activities.
