Replacing an aging strip retail center outside Washington, DC, the design for Scout on the Circle Mixed-Use development reinvigorates the site with an influx of new residents in addition to updated retail shops, restaurants, and a freestanding grocery store. Scout on the Circle sits on the eastern edge of the Fairfax Boulevard Masterplan and serves as a gateway to the city. The development itself is divided into city blocks and defines a progression of pedestrian experiences ranging from public plaza spaces and promenades to private residential courtyards. The buildings are tied together with a complementary palette of materials and various public art installations. Scout on the Circle’s diverse mix of uses aims to serve as an exemplary amenity for its residents as well as a retail destination for shoppers throughout the city of Fairfax and surrounding cities. 20110273 Client Combined Properties, Inc.
