SCKIPIO AND ITAS ANNOUNCE FIRST G.FAST- ENABLED EMS SYSTEM Two DPU solutions include end-to-end G.fast management from EMS to CPE Taipei, Taiwan, May 11, 2015 Sckipio Technologies, the leader in G.fast modems and iTAS Technology Corporation, a leading provider of xDSL distribution point units and element management systems (EMS) today jointly announced the first complete, end-to-end G.fast solution. iTAS announced two DPUs, both with integration into existing EMS and one with built-in remote power feeding. Both the iTAS IPF-16S and iTAS IPF-16R are indoor G.fast distribution points; the IPF-16S version accepts AC90~264V local power and the IPF-16R version accepts Reverse Power Feed by iTAS POD-57 module from CPE site using POE over DSL technology. “G.fast is well suited to brownfield areas,” said SC Lin, President of iTAS. “Service providers can reuse existing copper resources to reach speeds comparable to FTTH (1,000 Mbit/s). The management of G.fast can be done through different profiles, which will provide different QoS. G.fast’s faster access speeds, faster deployment, and faster return-on-investment are many of the reasons G.fast is attracting increasing industry attention. Because the DPUs were installed near customer sites, a centrally managed EMS is important for carriers to assure customer satisfaction when managing G.fast equipment. To manage the iTAS DPUs, service providers can use iTAS’ EMS system with a built-in persistent management agent (PMA) that can manage a G.fast DPU via Netconf/Yang or Web/SNMP/TELNET (by remotely in-band, local RS-232 CLI, or Ethernet). The GPON Feed and GPON SFP ONT portions are managed by OMCI messages from the OLT.

SCKIPIO AND ITAS ANNOUNCE FIRST G.FAST-ENABLED EMS SYSTEM

Two DPU solutions include end-to-end G.fast

management from EMS to CPE

Taipei, Taiwan, May 11, 2015 − Sckipio Technologies, the leader in G.fast modems and iTAS

Technology Corporation, a leading provider of xDSL distribution point units and element

management systems (EMS) today jointly announced the first complete, end-to-end G.fast solution.

iTAS announced two DPUs, both with integration into existing EMS and one with built-in remote

power feeding.

Both the iTAS IPF-16S and iTAS IPF-16R are indoor G.fast distribution points; the IPF-16S version

accepts AC90~264V local power and the IPF-16R version accepts Reverse Power Feed by iTAS

POD-57 module from CPE site using POE over DSL technology.

“G.fast is well suited to brownfield areas,” said SC Lin, President of iTAS. “Service providers can

reuse existing copper resources to reach speeds comparable to FTTH (1,000 Mbit/s). The

management of G.fast can be done through different profiles, which will provide different QoS.

G.fast’s faster access speeds, faster deployment, and faster return-on-investment are many of the

reasons G.fast is attracting increasing industry attention. Because the DPUs were installed near

customer sites, a centrally managed EMS is important for carriers to assure customer satisfaction

when managing G.fast equipment.

To manage the iTAS DPUs, service providers can use iTAS’ EMS system with a built-in persistent

management agent (PMA) that can manage a G.fast DPU via Netconf/Yang or Web/SNMP/TELNET

(by remotely in-band, local RS-232 CLI, or Ethernet). The GPON Feed and GPON SFP ONT

portions are managed by OMCI messages from the OLT.

iTAS’ compact, indoor DPUs are only 10”x14”x5.5” in dimension and support 16 subscribers per

DPU. The DPUs are based upon Sckipio Technologies’ unparalleled G.fast technology.

“iTAS is one of the few companies that has an EMS, remote power feed capability, a full

management including Netconf/Yang and FTTdp know-how,” said David Baum, CEO of Sckipio.

“Adding G.fast makes iTAS a great partner.”
