Thinking of buying a house here are a few initial tips which might be helpful Finance No matter what the house prices are you need money to purchase a property Therefore first thing you need to do is your financial homework Remember as you are probably going to have a loan on a monthly basis or less it may not be quite as expensive as you thought You must shop around to get the best all round deal for you Local authority Your local authority might well be your first port of call to see what they can offer you in the way of financing Have your list of questions written out and at the ready Tenant Purchase Of course if it is a tenant purshychase you will be dealing directshyly with the local authority who can also talk to you about financing Building SocietyBank Try the Building SocietyBank tooWhat have they got to offer you and even if you are not a wizard with figures take your time they have the expertise to explain it to you Bring your notebook with your questions and biro to take it all down and start a folder to keep all the
information Solicitor Some people think you go to a solicitor when you get the house No Go to a solicitor as soon as you are thinking of buyshying so that you can get a rough estimate of what is involved and most importantly the costsThe Law Society (Tel6724800) has a directory of all practitioners in your area Costs Remember there is not only the purchase price there is also stamp duty registration costs mortgage charges survey search and legal feesThere may also be removal fees furnishings and decoration expenses to be conshysidered and service charge if buying a flat Loan To buy the house you must have the necessary finance so you will need to obtain loan approval Surveyor What to our untrained eyes might seem a little palace to the expert eye might be absolute hell cracks dry rot whatever Money spent on the survey will be money well spent House Go out and select your house and then get back to the solicishytor immediately

Itrsquos hard to believe itrsquos that time of the year again Summer is over and the children are back in school The long sunny days of summer are fast becoming a distant memory Already the weather has changed and heavy jackets are being snatched from hibernation During this time of year itrsquos important to wrap up well and stock up on vitamins and minerals which will protect you and your famishyly from autumn winds and rain
Naturally a healthy diet filled with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables is the perfect way to keep healthy but that diet is not always possible in to days hectic lifestyle Luckily therersquos a wide range of vitamins and minerals available in our pharmacy that will substishytute any vitamin or mineral your body is lacking
Some main examples include Vitamin C This will boost the immune system proshytecting against colds and flu
Cod Liver Oil Oil lubrishycates the joints which will stop them aching on cold mornings It is also great for
hair skin and nails
Iron can be taken if you are feeling tired or run down some women can be anaemic without knowing it
Vitamin B6 and Evening Primrose Oil combined can work wonders for women who suffer from PMT
Vitamin B12 is an essenshytial supplement for vegetarshyians as we usually obtain this vitamin from red meat
Folic Acid taken 14 weeks before conception and 12 weeks after can help preshyvent Spina Bifida in newshyborns
Finally a general multi-vitashymin is a great pick-me-up after colds flu and viral infections
Another great way to keep healthy and feel good is to stay active so try to at least 30 minutes exercise daily even if it means walking the children to school instead of driving Every little helps so remember healthy food vitamins and minerals and a little exercise can make for a much better quality of life for you and your children

The five sessions will be held in Galway (1st October) Limerick (11th October) Waterford (12th October) Carrick-on-Shannon (14th October) and Dublin (21st October) The sessions are open to members of the public as well as organisations and agencies involved in delivering the Strategy Full details of the sessions are attached

Sean and Dano feed the awaiting crowd
Under clear skies and glorious sunshine a party kicked off in Balcurris playground to the sounds of a DJ pumping from the balcony of the Columban Youth Project on Wednesday the 8th September
The party was celebrating the unveiling of new artwork by Martin Folan and the Columban Youth Project Martin originally from Finglas has been at work in a basement flat on Balcurris Road Ballymun since June this year In collaboration with a group of young men aged between 16 ndash 18 from the Columban Youth Project the issue of daily life lsquoon the blockrsquo has been explored through photogshyraphy collage and dialogue This process has resulted in 2 large painted art works for the hoardings at Balcurris playground
Following an introduction by Dano a member of the group the first artwork depicting well known cartoon characters was unveiled to an eager crowd and chalk was
handed out to the awaiting children to make their own mark on blackshyboards fixed to the hoarding This artwork was made as a gesture by the group to give something to the children of Balcurris A barbecue echoing this gesture led by chefs Sean and Joey was to follow to the continuous sounds from the DJ
All this food and entertainment was building up to the climax of the event at 8pm as the sun faded away when the crowd were drawn to the exterior hoarding of the playshyground facing the back of 385 ndash 416 Balcurris Road where the secshyond part of the artwork was unveiled by the group revealing individual and group portraits of the young men
The young men involved in the art project identifiable by their lsquoLife on the Blockrsquo t-shirts were Dano Peo Chip Ger Darren Anto Shane Wayne Shane Gerry and Rusty
