This is one of the more famous pieces for tuba. At [II the main theme is introduced as a tubaThroughout the work the tuba joins other instruments in the same theme. At these times the tuba . =-comes a bit less important as a solo voice and is more a support to the other instruments. For e -ample, one measure after ~, the trumpet and English horn join the tuba .At this point the tuba is =-=-ked ppp and is asked to playas an echo of the first passage, while the other two iristruments are marx-ed mf. Special care should be taken with dynamics and rhythm.
