Attendance and Tardiness Students are expected to attend school
everyday and arrive on time! The principal must review each case
involving students who are absent for more than 10 days a semester.
Children who are late, arrive in the classroom after 8:05 a.m., will not be
permitted in class without a tardy pass from the ES office.

Class parties Students’ birthday parties are not held at school.
Parents may bring or send cupcakes or cake to school to share with classmates during lunch or recess.
If you choose to do this, please contact me about it at least 24 hours in advance, so I can make sure we can attend.
You are responsible for bringing all necessary items (knife, forks, plates, cups, candles, matches, etc.)
If parents want to distribute party invitations anywhere on campus, ALL students in a class (or all boys or all girls) must be invited.
Ways parents can support their child
Set up a study area: a quiet, well-lit area, shielded from interruption No social phone calls, computer games or television should be nearby
as it can divert their attention from the task at hand
Schedule study time. Children respond well to structure.

It is against school policy for parents, nannies, or drivers to come into the classrooms or walk in the hallways in the morning or during the day. If you need anything, please go to the office, and they can send us the message.

•Math: Thoroughly prepare students for middle school.
•Reading: Meet students where they are at and improve their use of strategies like inferring, making connections, questioning, etc.
•Writing: Teach structures according to the PYP standards using the 6+1 Traits.
•Grammar: Explicitly teach concepts that can be used immediately.
