VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR GRADE 10 STUDENTS IN THE 19/20 SCHOOL YEAR In period 3 on Thursday, June 6 current Grade 9 students will attend an informative session about volunteer opportunities at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games in August. The session will share with students the various volunteer opportunities that are available during the lead-up to the Games, the chances to help out during the Games and how they might be able to assist at the conclusion of the Games.

Why volunteer as a grade 10 student? 1. An integral component of citizenship is the act of volunteering. 2. Volunteering looks great on a resume. 3. In grade 10 Wellness, (compulsory class) students must

contribute twelve (12) hours of volunteer service in the 19/20 school year.

A part of the volunteer experience as students, a requirement for parents/guardians will be to sign off and be informed of their child’s desire to volunteer. Those papers will be coming home soon! Thank you students for helping to make the Games a success!
