Scale the Heights of Mount Kilimanjaro with Machame Route

Do you want to take-up the challenge of an adventurous climb? Then come to Africa where world’s highest free standing mountain is waiting for you. The majestic peak of Kilimanjaro beckons you to watch its beautiful wilderness stretch of Africa. From its peak you will get a spectacular as well as magnificent view. There are four routes to scale the height of Mount Kilimanjaro like Rongai Route, Marangu Route, Lemosho/Shira Route and Machame Route. From these Marangu is the easiest route but Machame is considered the most scenic route to scale up Kilimanjaro.

The climbers on Machame route generally have to sleep in tents and are rewarded with lovely as well as beautiful scenic views. Trekking along this route requires a minimum six days /five nights to reach the summit. Your climb will begin at Machame Gate, located in the southern base of Kilimanjaro then headed towards Shira-Plateau, before circling along the southern circuit halfway around the mountain. This will enable you to soak in the fantastic scenic views.

You will pass through diverse climate zones and certain places like Lava Tower, Southern Icefield and great Barranco Wall that will offer fabulous views along the Machame route. If you choose the shorter routes like Marangu then can have less chances of summiting the mountain as you will not get enough time to acclimatize. Whereas the longer routes like Machame route involves difficult hiking but maximizes the chances of reaching the summit due to better acclimatization.
