Proceeds to benefit the EcoTarium’s mission to inspire a passion for science and nature and support innovative programs and exhibits.

Saturday, May 13, 2017

Each year we come together to celebrate the EcoTarium Museum of Science and Nature at, “A Night at the Museum”, an evening of revelry that, highlights the important programs that you support, showcases the incredible talents of our staff and, is a lot of fun!

Our mission is, “To inspire a passion for science and nature” and each and every day we bring science to life through exciting programs, and innovative exhibits while filling the museum with smiling faces.

Last year we not only welcomed more visitors than ever before, but we were able to expand our impact in the community through scholarships, free and discounted admissions and creative partnerships. Your support tonight allows us to continue these important programs.

This year, “A Night at the Museum” honors two very special friends of the EcoTarium who have provided their support for decades; Jean McDonough and Steve Loring. With remarkable energy, enthusiasm and passion for our mission, Jean and Steve have literally transformed the EcoTarium. As Honorary Trustees and Honorary Chairs of our Third Century Plan Campaign their leadership is greatly appreciated, and tonight, recognized. Jean and Steve are true stars of our community and we ask you to join us in thanking them this evening.

The funds raised from this event will allow us to continue to inspire a passion for science and nature, allowing us to make a difference in our community for years to come. We extend our sincerest thanks to all who joined us in making this year’s event such a success.

Sincerely,

Joseph P. Cox, President Raymond L. Quinlan, Chair of the Board

WELCOME TO

A Night at the Museum is an exciting, eye-opening opportunity to experience one of our community’s most important educational resources — and learn through experience what the EcoTarium is all about.

For nearly 200 years, the EcoTarium has been one of our community’s most important educational resources. Today, it is nationally recognized for its innovative approach to collaborative education, partnering with local schools and educators, encouraging students to engage in learning science, nature, technology and math through hands-on discovery.

We’re proud to partner with the EcoTarium and to support its mission to make ours a smarter, more exciting and vibrant community.

FUND-A-NEED

The mission of the EcoTarium is, “To inspire a passion for science and nature” and, thanks to the generosity of our supporters we aim to inspire as many people as possible throughout our community.

Each year, support from the community allows us to underwrite critical programs such as our Summer Discovery Camp scholarships, Countdown to Kindergarten and our Social Service membership program. In 2016 our cost to run programs such as these was almost $400,000.

Here, right in our backyard, almost 82% of students in the Worcester Public School system are categorized as “high needs” – low income, English language learners or students with disabilities. Providing inspiration to the most vulnerable among us is part of the EcoTarium’s vision. This evening, our Live Fund-A-Need is giving them special attention.

Your support this evening will help children experience the EcoTarium, to fall in love with science and nature and follow their dreams. Thanks to the generosity of Honorary Trustees and Trustees who served alongside Jean McDonough and Steve Loring, all gifts to the Fund-A-Need this evening up to $25,000 will be matched.Thank you.
