Project Summary
Funding: DHET NSF funding R105 000 000 (since May 2013) for construction, equipment and operating costs (2015 to 2017). Substantial co-funding from GIZ.
Project Objectives• Design, construct, equip and staff a national facility for the
training and education of personnel for the RE industry (Wind, Solar-PV, Solar thermal, Micro-hydro, Bio-gas, …).
• Develop and deliver RE industry training in South Africa.
• Develop and deliver South African (SAQA registered) qualifications for RE training and education.
• Facilitate industry access to RE expertise in South Africa
