In this interactive workshop you will challenge yourself to go deeper

    As a yoga teacher it is important to know how to positively and safely correct and assist students with their asana practice. An experienced teacher helps to inspire the students. Gain confidence in your ability to correct students in each of the basic asanas while respecting their individual space, and how to assist students to come into more advanced postures and variations. All possible techniques including hands on corrections will be explored as well as how to recognize common mistakes made by both student and teacher.

    Meditation was described by Patanjali over 2500 years ago in his commentary on the Yoga Sutras. Discover why this universal tradition, meditation, has survived chaos and change throughout time. In this powerful workshop, you will explore the mind; the power of concentration and the many ways the mind helps and hinders our progress. Discover how meditation affects your life in both practical and spiritual ways, and how to overcome the many obstacles to meditation. One of the many aids to meditation is Mantra. Learn about the different Mantras, their proper pronunciations and rhythms. Finish this workshop with a guided meditation.

    OBSERVING THE MIND - ATTAINING SELF KNOWLEDGE

    Saraswati is one of the principal teachers of Sivananda Teachers Training Courses around the world and a co-director of the Toronto Sivananda Yoga Center. She lived and studied under the personal guidance of Swami Vishnu-Devananda, founder of International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers. Saraswati extensively studied founding yoga texts and is dedicated to preserving purity of the original yoga teachings. With more than 20 years of teaching experience she is both an inspiring and dynamic teacher. In her workshops she challenges students to debate, discuss and take a look into their own mind, in orderto reach their full potential. Saraswati is also director of Sivananda Yoga Kids Camp and has led yoga camps in Canada and Thailand. Her current work is focused on bringing yoga tools to at-risk children and adolescents.

    Prahlada is a director and senior teacher of the worldwide Sivananda organization. He was personally trained by Swami Vishnu-Devananda from an early age and has devoted his life to the study, practice and teaching of Hatha Yoga. He has taught for over 23 years and has trained over 10,000 teachers at the many Sivananda ashrams and yoga centers around the world. He has also trained and developed many of the teachers who deliver the teacher training internationally.

    In order to gain mastery over the mind we have to know what it is, how it works, and how it can be controlled. In this workshop we will take a clear look into the nature of the mind, the various forms that it assumes, the secrets of its inner workings, and a variety of methods by which to make it peaceful.
