2004-05 Economic and Social Research Council/Social Science Research Council (ESRC/

SSRC) Collaborative Visiting Fellowship ($6,000) (The purpose of this awards

program is to foster international research collaboration between researchers in

the US and UK via short visits between the two nations. I used my award to spend

eight weeks working with colleagues in the Centre for Social and Economic

Research on the Global Environment (CSERGE) and in the Climatic Research

Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia.

2003 American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration Best Paper Award,

Best Paper Award for Doctoral Dissertation ($1,000) (awarded every three years

in recognition of the doctoral dissertation that has contributed the most to

scholarly literature and improved practice of park and recreation administration

in the previous three years; open to all parks, recreation and tourism students in

the US and abroad.)

2003 Scholarship from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to participate in

their Advanced Research Workshop, Climate Change and Tourism: Assessment

and Coping Strategies (to cover flight to Warsaw plus meals and accommodation)
