AGE RANGE: 8 to 12 years old
DATES: 8th to 12th AUGUST, 5 days per week, 10am to 12 noon –
six places available 15th to 19TH AUGUST, 5 days per week, 2PM to 4PM – one place
available
PLACE: The Interact Group Multifunction Room D, 22/F, On Hong

COST: $2,500 per student, including writing materials. Discount of
15% for second sibling.
DETAILS Do you love the idea of writing stories…but you’re not sure how? Do you run out
of ideas in the middle of your story or get stuck at the ending? Do you
sometimes find that your stories just don’t make sense? Let Hong Kong’s much-
loved author Sarah Brennan share her writing secrets with you, in a five day
summer course designed to leave you with all the tools of a great story-writer!
DAY ONE
Introduction - Sarah will share her writing secrets, and you’ll come up with a
funny and fabulous idea for a story, based on some zany ingredients you’ll pick
out of a magic hat!
DAY TWO
Planning Day - Sarah will guide you step-by-step as you plan your story, from
Brilliant Beginning to Fabulous Finish. We’ll focus on building believable, exciting
characters and do LOTS of work on your story setting! You’ll plan all the action
from attention-grabbing problem through a riveting climax to a stylish ending.
DAY THREE
Drafting day - You’ll work on your first draft, then edit it with one-on-one
attention from Sarah as you work.
DAY FOUR
Polishing day – one last edit, when Sarah will give you individual help to produce
a polished and fabulous final product.
DAY FIVE
Sharing day - when you’ll present your story to the group, and have the chance
to comment on each other’s work in a supportive, positive and fun setting!
