Santiago Canyon College

Director’s Message

Welcome students to fall 2018.

I hope you had a wonderful summer! I hope that you take the time to read this newsletter, because in EOPS we always at-tempt to keep communicating with you. We send emails, text, call and once a semester, send a newsletter! It is important that you remember your responsibilities as an EOPS student. You must come and meet with a counselor three times per semester. We realize how busy you are with school, work and family responsibilities so please inform your counselor if you belong to another program. If you are STEM, DSPS, TRIO, CAMP, GUARDIAN SCHOLAR, HONORS, PATHWAYS TO TEACHING or any other program; your counselor will work with you to help manage all programs.

I do not think I can emphasize enough to you to take ad-vantage of our sup-port services! The Writing Center is now open to all stu-dents! The library is open until 7:30pm Monday-Thursday! The First Year Support Cen-ter has many activi-

ties that you can participate in! The Food Pantry is available and in our own EOPS Office we have food every day for you!! Come by and grab a water, fruit, or make yourself a peanut butter sandwich. Remember to keep your appointments and to stop by if you need a pen, pencil, scantron or any academic supply you may need.

Remember that we are here to serve you and that what hap-pens here matters.

Good luck this semester and do your best!!!!
