Fall 2019 EOPS/CARE Santiago Canyon College Directors Message Welcome to fall 2019 semester. I hope you are ready to begin a very successful semester. In EOPS our goal is to make sure that each of you complete all your cours- es this fall and that you are succeeding in every class. I cant emphasize how important it is for you to take advantage of the many services SCC offers you. Please note that as an EOPS student you must meet with a counselor three times per semester. The first appointment is your book voucher appoint- ment and it is a quick one. The second appointment is where your educa- tional plan may be updated. Your counselor will make sure you are on track according to your educational and career goals. Early Scheduling is an im- portant counseling session because we are helping you to prepare for the upcoming semester priority registration. One of my goals this year is to make sure that each of you have a completed financial aid application on file and that you are receiving financial aid on time. For our dreamer stu- dents I also want to make sure that you have a completed application on file. We send out multiple emails throughout the semester with scholarship information. I am hoping that you take advantage of those scholarships. Apply for scholarships this year! I realize that some students do not apply because it feels too lengthy. Although this is true, it is worth every second you spend on your application. There is a lot of money out there so take advantage of the resources available to you. Please pay attention to the emails we send you regarding when our food pantry will be open for food pick up, I am hoping you make a commitment to make this semester a great one. Remember that we are here to serve you and that we want you to reach your educational goal. Welcome New EOPS Students! Fall 2019

EOPS/CARE Santiago Canyon College

Director’s Message

Welcome to fall 2019 semester.

I hope you are ready to begin a very successful semester.

In EOPS our goal is to make sure that each of you complete all your cours-es this fall and that you are succeeding in every class. I can’t emphasize how important it is for you to take advantage of the many services SCC offers you.

Please note that as an EOPS student you must meet with a counselor three times per semester. The first appointment is your book voucher appoint-ment and it is a quick one. The second appointment is where your educa-tional plan may be updated. Your counselor will make sure you are on track according to your educational and career goals. Early Scheduling is an im-portant counseling session because we are helping you to prepare for the upcoming semester priority registration. One of my goals this year is to make sure that each of you have a completed financial aid application on file and that you are receiving financial aid on time. For our dreamer stu-dents I also want to make sure that you have a completed application on file.

Please pay attention to the emails we send you regarding when our food pantry will be open for food pick up,

I am hoping you make a commitment to make this semester a great one.

Remember that we are here to serve you and that we want you to reach your educational goal.

Welcome New EOPS Students!
