Topic - Grammar lesson – 2 Sentences Sentences – A group of words that makes complete sense is called a sentence. To understand it better let us read these groups of words.

(i) like I cartoons (ii) in the garden

The first group of words does not make any sense. The second group of words make sense but not complete sense. Now let us read these group of words.

(i) I like cartoons. (ii) Meena is walking in the garden.

The group of words make sense and hence are called sentences. Examples- 1.I love to eat noodles. 2.Ravi is my best friend. 3.My school is far from my house. Points to remember: *A sentence begins with a capital letter. * A sentence ends with a full stop. Example – My name is Kavita. *It can end with a question mark when the sentence asks a question.
