    PVC

    TiO2

    Plastic Pigment

SHP opaque polymer is a unique hiding additive

that enables paint manufacturers to save money

    and improve performances.

1.Replacement of TiO2 in the medium PVC of water base paint

    - Reducing the prime cost of paint

    - Better opacity by the replacement of SHP-60 in 1.5~2 parts

    against 1 part of TiO2.

    2. Dirt pick-up can be reduced with the use of SHP-60.

When the opaque polymer SHP-60 is incorporated, PVC in

the paint increases but gloss or sheen does not change much

and the dirt pick-up resistance of the paint increases.

    3. Anti-crowding effect

The SHP-60 is much larger size (which means lower surface

area) than Titanium Dioxide and never flock together; So the

use of hollow sphere pigment can increase the opacity

    enhancing efficiency of the paint.

    4. Replacement of Kaolin (Calcined Clay)

SHP-60 can be used to promote opacity without sacrificing the

    physical properties.

    Interior Scrub Panel

cleaner is rubbed back and forth across the panel to simulate

The paint containing SHP opaque polymer shows better color

retention. (the top panel contain Minex 4 nepheline syenite, a

durable extender; those on the bottom, a clay)

    ※ SHP-100 for Paper coatings

After drying process, SHP-100 has small air void (800nm)

with well distributed To supply many scattering site of

light without loss of film strength.

    - Smoother surface higher gloss

    - Ink vehicles penetrate uniformly into the coated layer

    good printability

    - Lots of air voids resulting in adiabatic property

    good for thermal papers

  • Products – Rheology modifiers

    * grade (D company)

    Properties

    Very high thickening effect

    Showing butter-like rheology : TH-06, AT-99 applied to texture coating & putty

Showing honey-like rheology : AT-33, AT-65 applied to vanish & good flow paint

Easily mixed with paint, putty, and varnishes. (just stirring over 15 minutes only)

    Applications

Thickener for paint / putty (Suitable for Roller, brush, and spay coatings)

    Substitute for Hydroxy ethyl cellulose

Thickener for acrylic vanish & Texture coating

    Cautions

Shows thickening effect in alkaline condition (pH : 8 ~ 10).

Shows thickening effect in acrylic resin systems.

For exact adjusting the viscosity or prevent of shocking, Viscosity modifier may be diluted with water (1/1 – 1/3)

    before adding.
