    Salford Stylish Steppers finish second in New Zealand! Whata great piece of news to receive last weekend!

    The girls have worked so hard to achieve this result and arean example of what can be achieved when you set your sightshigh. A huge thank you to their coach Linda. Without yourpassion and drive this result would not have been possible.Thanks to all the parents who were involved in thefundraising, costumes, hair, make up and other important jobsthat aided in this success. We look forward to another greatresult at next years Jump Jam Nationals... No pressure!

    The Jump Jam Quiz was a fantastic night out with over$2200.00 raised to aid our teams trip to Auckland. There was

    plenty of good natured banter between the teams on the night and everyone had a fun time out. Congratulationsto the winning teams.

    Next week our Year 6 students are taking part in the annual Orange Day Parade. This event is organisedby the Invercargill City Council to celebrate those students who do Road Patrol everyday. The children arewelcomed at Wachner where they will meet other Year 6 students. Next they will march to The Civic Theatre tobe acknowledged by Tim Shadbolt. Finally they will enjoy a swim at Splash Palace to finish the afternoon.

    End of term is rapidly approaching, with our school production in Week 8. Please see Judi in the office tosecure your tickets. Have a safe andenjoyable weekend.

    Super Salford'sKiwi Christmas Hampers

    Yes thats a mouthful! But its going tobe such a super treat it needs aspectacular title.

    The PTA have decided that the countdown to Christmas isREALLYon for families and staff and we wanted to say

    Thank You to our many supporters throughout the yearso........ we will be drawing 4 families names from the schoolroll.

    Those 4 Super Salford families, will each receive a KiwiChristmas Hamper put together by the PTA.

    Will your family get the Hamper with the supermarket voucher? or the petrol voucher? or the BBQ meat pack?

    Not to mention sun block,magazines, sweet treats,nibbles and more KiwiChristmas goodness.

    2 draws will be made on each night of

    the Santas Workshop Production.

    Thank You to the many families and friends who havesupported our fundraising efforts during 2013.Enjoy your last few weeks of school.

As we draw theschool year to a close, we are asking you all to assistus to find missing resources. We have recently beencontacted regarding Salford School library booksbeing returned to the Invercargill City Library. Pleasebe careful as this is an expensive resource to replace.

    Message from the CommissionerNicola Hornsey

    Thank you to all the parents who attended the meeting withme in the School Halllast Monday - it is very heartening tolearn that there is so much support for Salford Schoolamongst the parent community.

    I also wish to express my thanks to Mr Tucker and all of the

    Salford School staff for the work that they are doing to makesure that the School operations continue to run smoothly.

    My role is a governance one. This means that I will not beinvolved with the day to day management of the School.Rather, I am responsible for monitoring the overallperformance of the School in exactly the same way that aBoard of Trustees is responsible.

    An application for Financial Assistance with the costs of theappointment of a Commissioner will be made to theMinistry of Education as soon as I have prepared myScoping Report which is due to be completed on the 6thofDecember 2013.

    Whilst my role is a governance one, I dointend to spend time at Salford School on aregular basis and plan to next be at schoolon the 26th, 27thand 28thof November 2013.

    I look forward to getting to know you all.

    SALFORD SCHOOL PTA UNIFORM SHOP

    As we draw the school year to a close, remember if you arelooking at replacing uniform items for the new year, or in thecase of our Year 6 leavers, if you are leaving Salford and wouldlike to donate your uniforms to the PTA for resale, they wouldbe welcomed. This is a donation albeit in a different form.

    Uniform items can be dropped at the office up until the 19thDecember and then again in the last week of January 2014.

    DonationsSalford School Financial year ends on the 31st of December.All Families will have received their Term 4 School Donationaccount and a copy of the Donation statement for the year.

    Remember your donations assist the school in providingprogrammes and activities for your children and are greatlyappreciated.

    ServicesFamilies accessing AFTER SCHOOL CARE, SPORTS,UNIFORMS, or STATIONERY. Please settle all outstanding2013 invoices before December 31st. All concerns or queries,please contact the office.
