VOLUME XLVI JULY/AUGUST 2015 No. 4
Our mission is to be the leading walk-in and blast chiller/shock freezer manufacturer by providing superior products and services that exceed the expectations of our customers.
Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen
Teri BrewerVice President
Sales/Marketing Manager
With a menu featuring “Family Style Lunches, Down Home Dishes and Southern Desserts” Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has become quite the Southern tradition. “The restaurant’s tiered seating provides each guest a unique view of the Island’s Show Fountains, along with the Great Smoky Mountains in the distance. Friends and families will enjoy classic Deen family recipes just like they do in their very own home.” (Source: www.pauladeensfamilykitchen.com). The Southern tradition of service and quality extends further into the kitchen with two uniquely designed Thermo-Kool walk-in coolers and a Thermo-Kool walk-in freezer. Thermo-Kool’s flexibility in design and capability of manufacturing in 1” panel increments made it possible to accomplish the actual sizes and configurations so that the walk-ins fit the exact space available and maximization of storage space. Pictured is the L-shaped Thermo-Kool walk-in cooler
preassembled at the Thermo-Kool factory as it awaits a thorough quality control inspection prior to shipment to ensure a trouble-free and quick installation with no hidden costs. A few of the features of the walk-ins included stucco galvanized interior walls and ceilings which combined with the LED light fixtures ensures maximum illumination; 1/8” aluminum treadplate floors with foamed-in-place interior ramps which comply with the latest NSF requirements and are an integral part of the walk-in floor and remote preassembled refrigeration systems with scroll compressors and EC motors for energy efficiency.
Thermo-Kool Customer Account Representative, Bryan Blackledge, worked on the project with Mike Slemp, Vice President – Knoxville Division of Mobile Fixture & Equipment Company, Knoxville, Tennessee and Thermo-Kool Marketing Agent Mike Whitten with PMR, Inc., Brentwood, Tennessee.

Thermo-Kool’s Vice President and
Comptroller, Robert Collins recently
lost his battle with cancer after a
short illness. Collins began working
at Thermo-Kool in September of
1979, when he was just 20 years
old, as a computer programmer. He
was promoted to Data Processing
Supervisor in 1986 and then to
Accounting Supervisor in 1988. In
January of 1989 he was promoted
to Accounting Manager and then in
1998 he was elected Vice President
and Comptroller where he served
faithfully and diligently until just a
few weeks before his death.
Thermo-Kool recently announced the promotion of Melanie Roney to Administrative Resource Manager. Roney worked at Thermo-Kool from 1986 until 1998 as computer programmer and rejoined the company in August 2007, as Human Resources Director. In her new role, Roney will continue to lead human resources as well as to provide resources to sales, marketing, accounting and the overall office management functions.
In announcing Roney’s promotion, Thermo-Kool President and CEO, Rand McLaughlin said, “The Thermo-Kool management team strives to be both mission focused and team oriented by contributing selflessly to each other to accomplish the mission. Melanie has exemplified this and has been an excellent role model for others to follow.”
