• Founded in 1995, with main business
production of pneumatic cylinders
• Constant and profitable growth in
revenue, employees, product
lines, today counting more than 50
employees and 3000 sqm plant
• Serves customers in more than 50
countries, export is 60% of turnover
• Introduced in 2009 its Safety Line, to
address the market for active safety in
industrial vehicles and automation
Because
• Drivers are not trained properly
• Even trained drivers are human, thus make
mistakes
AND
there are no ACTIVE SAFETY systems on board
Introducing the Safety Line• It is a unique, cost efficient, flexible
ACTIVE SAFETY SYSTEM for industrial
and commercial vehicles
• ACTIVE SAFETY means the system
uses the state of the vehicle to both
avoid and prevent the effects of a crash
• If there is a risk of imminent impact due
to poor visibility or operator
distraction, the safety line PREVENTS
ACCIDENTS by slowing down and
stopping all movements.
• It is UNIQUE as the ONLY active safety
system in the marketplace now, with
INNOVATIVE design concepts, with high
FLEXIBILITY of configuration, at
affordable COST
Components and functions
Main control unit• Manages all the active safety logic
• Receives input from sensors
(distance, weight, cameras etc)
• Manages I/O with HMI devices (Human Machine
Interface) such as alarm LEDs, monitors, buttons
Components and functions
Sensors• Provide input on vehicle status and dynamics
• Distance, weight, balance, temperature, etc
• E.g. distance: can be configured in “green
zone”, “orange zone”, “red zone”
Components and functions
Human Machine Interface• LEDs/lights to alert driver
• Camera + Monitor to show danger areas
• Buttons to unlock motor stop (if in red zones)
• Other e.g. magnetic card readers to identify
authorized drivers
Forklift accidents (US)
• about 85fatalities per year, 34,900 serious injuries and 61,800
non-serious injuries.
• According to the Industrial Truck Association, over 11 percent will
be involved in some type of accident each year
• The ITA also reports that the useful life of a lift truck is eight
years, which means that about 90 percent of all forklifts will be
involved in some type of accident during their useful life.
Compelling reasons to invest
• Cost of material and productivity losses in your business– Costs of damaged assets
– Costs of injured workers
• Cost of regulatory non compliances– E.g. in Italy a company is shut down and gets fines up to €
300.000
– In extreme cases: criminal sentences
• Insurance costs– To cover your own or 3rd party damaged assets
– To cover your own or other people’s health damages (or death)
Competitive advantages
• Complete active safety– No competitor provides true ACTIVE safety, mostly passive
alarm systems
• Flexibility– Works with different type of sensors, cameras, HMIs, to
adapt to each specific use case/applications
• Cost – Extremely competitive cost
• Design– Attention to ease of installation, use, etc
