Mineral Water
Mineral water is water from a mineral
spring that contains various minerals, such
as salts and sulfur compounds. Mineral
water may be effervescent due to contained
gases.
Traditionally, mineral waters were used or
consumed at their spring sources, often referred to as "taking the waters" or "taking the
cure," at places such as spas, baths, or wells. The term spa was used for a place where
the water was consumed and bathed in; bath where the water was used primarily for
bathing, therapeutics, or recreation; and well where the water was to be consumed.
In modern times, it is far more common for mineral water to be bottled at the source for
distributed consumption. Travelling to the mineral water site for direct access to the
water is now uncommon, and in many cases not possible because of exclusive
commercial ownership rights. There are more than 3,000 brands of mineral water
commercially available worldwide.
Benefits of Mineral Water
1. Lose Weight
Any type of water including mineral water contains no calories and is fat free. When
trying to lose weight, many people forget to consider the calories found in the most
popular drinks such as soda and juice and these calories can make it difficult to achieve
weight loss or even maintain a goal weight. The Mayo Clinic actually reports that cutting
out calories from your beverages can lead to greater weight loss than simply cutting
calories from your meals. When you opt for mineral water you will be able to stay at your
target calorie intake while staying hydrated and feeling healthy.
2. Improve Bone Health
After menopause women suffer from a gradual bone loss but this can be controlled by
simply having mineral water on a regular basis. A study in one of the popular scientific
journals suggested that the calcium found in mineral water may be crucial to maintaining
a normal bone density and therefore preventing the development of bone related
illnesses such as osteoporosis.
3. Lower Blood Pressure
The magnesium found in mineral water can also play an important role in maintaining a
normal blood pressure level. One study found that patients with hypertension who
consumed one liter of bottled mineral water showed a decrease in blood pressure over
time. The researchers propose that these patients had poor magnesium levels so
consuming mineral water rich in magnesium was able to lower their blood pressure.
4. Lower LDL Cholesterol
LDL cholesterol is the bad cholesterol and is one of the largest factors for developing
heart problems. People who drink mineral water regularly will notice a large reduction in
their risk of developing heart disease due to its ability to lower levels of LDL cholesterol.
In addition, some of the minerals found in mineral water such as potassium and
magnesium support heart function.
5. Aid Digestion
Mineral water is also a great source of sulfates which help promote digestion. That is
because sulfates stimulate the pancreas so it releases enzymes such as amylases,
proteases and lipases that help digest food properly. Low sulfate levels can cause poor
digestive health or even bloating, constipation or diarrhea.
6. Maintain Muscle Performance
Mineral water that is rich in magnesium may also help play a key role in the function of
muscles. That is because magnesium is an essential mineral for our bodies as it allows
muscles to relax and contract properly. That is why muscle aches and cramps are one of
the signs of magnesium deficiency.
7. Maintain Electrolyte Balance
Electrolytes are salts (bicarbonate, chloride, potassium and sodium) which prevent
dehydration by helping the cells of the body absorb water. Because mineral water can
be a great source of electrolytes, those who experience an electrolyte imbalance are
frequently asked to consume mineral water in order to replenish their electrolyte loss.
8. Reduce Kidney Stone Risk
Doctors recommend increasing your intake of fluids in order to help prevent kidney
stones and the best choice is mineral water. Usually kidney problems take place
because of calcium oxalate kidney stones but when you consume mineral water that has
adequate amounts of calcium and magnesium it can help decrease the concentration of
calcium oxalate. Studies have also shown that drinking mineral water can significantly
reduce a person’s risk of suffering uric acid kidney stones.
9. Better Your Skin
Mineral water can help better your skin because of its high quantities of silica which can
strengthen the spongy cells that are found between elastin and collagen fibers as well as
slow down wrinkle formation. Simply drinking mineral water will help your skin but you
can also use it in your beauty regime. One great way is to cleanse your face, then wipe
your face using a cotton ball soaked in mineral water and finish with your moisturizer.
You can also put mineral water on your toner pad before adding the toner. If you use
homemade beauty products or wet your makeup before using it, always opt for mineral
water instead of tap water. You can even gently spray your face with mineral water
throughout the day or use it for hair spray.
10. Other Benefits
Mineral water can help breakdown waste materials in the body as well as
cleanse it of toxins.
Many of the mineral waters available have therapeutic effects that can ease or
cure multiple chronic diseases and conditions.
Mineral water can also help relieve the pains and aches associated with
rheumatism and arthritis by reducing inflammation and swelling of the muscles
and joints.
Purified Water
Purified water is water that is mechanically filtered or processed to be cleaned for
consumption. Distilled water and deionized (DI) water have been the most common
forms of purified water, but water can also be purified by other processes
including reverse osmosis, carbon
filtering, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, ultraviolet oxidation, or electrodialysis. In recent
decades, a combination of the above processes have come into use to produce water of
such high purity that its trace contaminants are measured in parts per billion (ppb) or
parts per trillion. Purified water has many uses, largely in science and engineering
laboratories and industries, and is produced in a range of purities. Purified water in
colloquial English can also refer to water which has been treated "rendered potable" to
neutralize, but not necessarily remove contaminants considered harmful to humans or
animals.
Benefits of Purified Water
Reduce Exposure to Chemical and Physical Toxins
Purified drinking water minimizes the accidental exposure to toxins because it
undergoes several processes that would make the water safe to drink. The water passes
through purified water technology that can filter out harmful contaminants.
Help Mineral Build-Up
Research shows that purified water can help eliminate mineral deposit and can build up
cells and joints and reduce the possibility of painful gallstones. This also decreases
stress load on your kidney and can greatly enhance nutrients efficiently.
Remove Rusty Taste
Water that comes from a regular water pump usually has a rusty taste. The water purifier
water pump therefore cleanses the water which offers you a cleaner taste that is good
for every day intake. It even enhances the taste of the water.
Alkaline Water
Alkaline water is the newest
innovation that is available in
market today. Termed as
“miracle water” due to various
claims made by users that they
are healed after drinking alkaline water. Alkaline water that has been separated into
alkaline and acid fractions using electrolysis, which takes advantage of the naturally
occurring electric charges found in the magnesium and calcium ions; in the drinking
water industry.
Alkaline Water Good-Effects
Drinking alkaline water HYDRATES, ENERGIZES, OXIDIZES and helps reduce
ACIDOSIS! Regular consumption of alkaline water improves regularity to the body.
Unlike tap water, you can drink large amounts of alkaline water without bloating or
stomach upset.
Regular consumption of alkaline water aids in the prevention and reversal of the

Precautions and Tips for Drinking Mineral Water
1. Mind the Sodium Content
Some of the brands of bottled mineral water will contain high quantities of sodium so in
these cases, if you only use mineral water for your daily fluid intake you may be
consuming excess amounts of salt. Drinking too much mineral water can also be
detrimental to the health of people who suffer from high blood pressure. Because of this,
you should either limit your intake of mineral water or opt for ones with low levels of
sodium.
2. Limit Mineral Water during Pregnancy
When you are pregnant, you must drink water to ensure the body stays hydrated. When
pregnant you should restrict your consumption of mineral water to only occasional use
that is because bottled mineral water can contain high levels of salt which could raise
your blood pressure or cause other health complications when pregnant.
3. Consider Sparkling Mineral Water
Sparkling mineral water is mineral water that has been carbonated but it can also be
found in some springs naturally. Sparkling mineral water can be as good for the body as
normal mineral water. Usually to make the sparkling variety, man-made processes will
add carbon dioxide to the natural mineral water. This type of mineral water has the
added benefit of helping destroy germs which are a source of various bacterial and viral
infections.
Precautions for Drinking Purified Water
Purified water is an active absorber and when it comes into contact with air, it absorbs
carbon dioxide, making it acidic. The more purified water a person drinks, the higher the
body acidity becomes. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,
“Purified” water, being essentially mineral-free, is very aggressive, in that it tends to
dissolve substances with which it is in contact. Notably, carbon dioxide from the air is
rapidly absorbed, making the water acidic and even more aggressive. Many metals are
dissolved by purified water.
The most toxic commercial beverages that people consume (i.e. cola beverages and
other soft drinks) are made from purified water. Studies have consistently shown that
heavy consumers of soft drinks (with or without sugar) spill huge amounts of calcium,
magnesium and other trace minerals into the urine. The more mineral loss, the greater
the risk for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, coronary artery disease, high
blood pressure and a long list of degenerative diseases generally associated with
premature aging.
A growing number of health care practitioners and scientists from around the world have
been advocating the theory that aging and disease is the direct result of the
accumulation of acid waste products in the body. There is a great deal of scientific
documentation that supports such a theory. A poor diet may be partially to blame for the
waste accumulation. Meats, sugar, white flour products, fried foods, soft drinks,
processed foods, alcohol, dairy products and other junk foods cause the body to become
more acidic. Stress, whether mental or physical can lead to acid deposits in the body.
There is a correlation between the consumption of soft water (purified water is extremely
soft) and the incidence of cardiovascular disease. Cells, tissues and organs do not like
to be dipped in acid and will do anything to buffer this acidity including the removal of
minerals from the skeleton and the manufacture of bicarbonate in the blood. The longer
one drinks purified water, the more likely the development of mineral deficiencies and an
acid state. I have done well over 3000 mineral evaluations using a combination of blood,
urine and hair tests in my practice. Almost without exception, people who consume
purified water exclusively, eventually develop multiple mineral deficiencies. Those who
supplement their purified water intake with trace minerals are not as deficient but still not
as adequately nourished in minerals as their non-purified water drinking counterparts
even after several years of mineral supplementation.
The ideal water for the human body should be slightly alkaline and this requires the
presence of minerals like calcium and magnesium. Purified water tends to be acidic and
can only be recommended as a way of drawing poisons out of the body. Once this is
accomplished, the continued drinking of purified water is a bad idea.
Water filtered through a solid charcoal filter is slightly alkaline. Ozonation of this charcoal
filtered water is ideal for daily drinking. Longevity is associated with the regular
consumption of hard water (high in minerals). Ionized Water is the best possible drinking
water. Disease and early death is more likely to be seen with the long term drinking of
purified water. Avoid it except in special circumstances.
Precautions for Drinking Alkaline Water
It is important to address the concern of becoming too alkaline. The body has adequate
systems in place to resolve acidity and alkalinity as they occur. Although alkaline water
will not immediately increase the alkalinity of the body, all systems in the body eventually
fail once they are abused beyond their capacities.
Alkalinity is as dangerous as acidity because they both cause nutritional imbalance.
Some scientists also found that normal cells die in excessively alkaline environments
while cancer appears to be unaffected by the alkaline environment.
Alkaline water blends with the gastric acid and neutralizes it. Consequently, your
digestion will suffer and you open the possibility of malabsorption (less nutrients for you).
Depending on the nutrient deficiencies you develop, you will also develop corresponding
health issues.
The gastric acid is important for digesting food, but it also protects the body by killing
parasites that try to make their way from the foods to your intestines. If you create an
alkaline environment in your stomach, you are helping them survive and thrive in your
body. Parasites are less common in the developed world than they are in the developing
world because of higher standards in the food industry, but they are still a threat, so
don’t remove your defenses.
Possibility of High Risk
If you carry the container full of water but the container was slippery, accident is
available. It can fall freely to your feet.
A pile of containers full of water can cause an accident if it is accidentally pushed
or fall over.
Wet floor because of an overflowing of water has a possibility of high risk.
Contamination of water can be present if the used seals are placed beside or
after the containers.
When the blower is in an electric connection and placed on a wet surface, you
are able to be electrocuted.
Misplaced mop can cause an accident like unexpected fall.
The tip of the blower is hot and may cause burn if not used properly and carefully
Actions/ Preventions/Recommendations
Make sure that the container is free from bubbles or dishwashing liquid to
prevent its surface to become slippery and to prevent its content from
contamination.
Avoid making a pile of containers full of water to prevent accidents like falling it to
you.
Be attentive in refilling the containers to avoid overflowing.
Dispose properly the used seals to avoid contamination of water.
When blower is in use, make sure that the workplace is dry and free from
causeway.
Proper placement of the mop is also important.
Use gloves to in sealing and in using the blower to avoid burn.
Be attentive all the time when you’re at the workplace.
