Dear Sacred Heart Families,

Bingo Night was a huge success! With nearly 100 in attendance, it was a fun night for all! A special thank you to Northshore Pizza for supplying us with all of the pizza for that evening and to Sweet Buddha for the fun prize baskets! Be sure to show these great supporters of our community your thanks by patronizing their businesses. (If you did not get coupons for special discounts for pizza and Sweet Buddha shopping, contact Tanya at [email protected]). And a BIG thank you to Tanya Scandariato and all the volunteers for organizing such a wonderful event!

Kindergarteners celebrated the 100th day of school by showing their parents what amazing things they know! They performed a play about what they learned during the first 100 days of school, and showed how they can count by 10s & 5s. They then shared their collections and how they were grouped. The students weighed, compared, and observed them by volume.

The JKers learned about Hibernation and Habitats last week while learning about letter H! They were each assigned a hibernating animal, which they researched through books, pictures, and videos in a small group. Then, they were challenged to build the animal’s habitat collaboratively using a variety of materials and refrigerator boxes! They showed off everything they knew about their animals in expert showcases to their 4th grade buddies, Ms. Fink, and their parents. What a fun and hands-on study!

Fourth & fifth grades had a wonderful visit to Feed My Starving Children. Thank you SO MUCH to all of the parent volunteers! Sacred Heart ended up being the only group at the packing session, so it was fun having the experience as a school. The FMSC workers all commented on how well behaved the kids were and how much fun they had working with them! It is so wonderful seeing little hands and big hearts making a big difference in the world!

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR BOOK FAIR!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to shop at our Scholastic Book, which helps buy new books and

resources for our library. In addition, thank you to those who purchased teacher wish list books for our wonderful

teachers to help them stock their classroom libraries.

We would also like to give a very BIG THANK YOU to our Book Fair volunteers and an extra special thank you to our

Bookfair team for all their time and effort.

Without the time and dedication of our school community we would not have had our most successful fair in 5 years!

We processed 370 sales for a total of $6046.94. This resulted in $3051.56 in Scholastic Dollars for the school.
