Allowing God to Shape Us Call to Confession Based on Isaiah 45:21-22

“There is no God apart from me,” says the Lord. “I am a righteous God and a Savior; there is none but me. Seek after me, for I am God, and there is no other. Turn to me and be saved, all of you.”

Prayer of Confession (Responsive) Eternal God, we are very much aware this morning that the treasure we have is in earthen vessels. We, like clay pots, have rough edges, are not beautiful to look upon, and have gaping cracks. It would seem much more fitting that your treasure would be stored in beautiful containers of gold and silver. Yet, by your mysterious grace, you have entrusted us, sinful as we are, with the precious treasure of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

[Moment of Silent Prayer of Confession]Give us the courage to trust and the strength to follow you at all times.

Strengthen us in body and spirit so that, with your help, we may be able to overcome the weakness that our sin has brought upon us; through Jesus Christ, your Son our Lord. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon, Hymn #60 (Verse 3) Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Coming Before God’s Open Word Prayer for Illumination and Scripture Reading Jeremiah

18:1-14 Message “God Asserts His Complete Sovereignty over Israel.” Prayer Hymn of Devotion and Blessing #584 Have Thine Own Way, Lord

Silent Prayer for Those Seeking to Acknowledge Christ as Their Savior:"Dear Jesus, I confess that I'm a sinner, and not right with you. I repent and ask forgiveness. I believe that you died on the cross to take my punishment and to pay the price for my sins. I believe that you rose from death to give me new life. Wash me clean from all sin, shame, and guilt, and come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. In your name I pray. Amen."

Celebrating God, His Care, and His Abun-dance

Sacrament of Communion (Intinction) Prayer After Communion (Unison)

For the gifts of the field and vine that nourish our bodies, souls, and hearts, we thank you O, God. Sustained by this meal and the assurance of your grace through our Lord, Jesus Christ, may our lives reflect your presence, and may a more intimate relationship with you and our neighbor be our priority. As we gather around our own tables in the days ahead, may we be reminded of this table, where all are welcome, and of the truth that love is always the answer to hate. Amen.

Offering/Offertory *Doxology #809 Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow*Offertory Prayer (Unison)

God, our Creator, you are the potter who shaped each of us. Through your word and spirit, you continue to mold our lives. Help us to listen to your voice so that our every thought and action will be pleasing to you. May the tithes and offerings we give today support the ministries of this church, bringing renewal to people made in your image. We pray in Jesus’s name. Amen.

~BROOKS BAR-B-CUE AT KRC SEPTEMBER 25~ The Kinderhook Reformed Church Cemetery is sponsoring a BROOKS BAR-B-CUE again this year from 3:00 - 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, on the church lawn. PRICES ARE $12 FOR THE FULL DINNER AND $8 FOR CHICKEN ONLY. Full dinner in-cludes a baked potato, coleslaw, and roll. For a donation, homemade desserts will also be offered to enhance the meal. If you are able to donate baked goods to the dessert menu, please indicate your contribution on the sign-up sheet at the back ta-ble. All proceeds will go toward operation and maintenance of the cemetery grounds, which has, over the years, become an increasingly costly community ministry. Start-ing today, reservations can be left on the church phone, 518-758-6401. PAYMENT BY CHECK OR BY CASH FOR PHONE RESERVATIONS, WILL BE COLLECTED WHEN YOU AR-RIVE AT THE BAR-B-CUE. If you prefer, you may purchase prepaid tickets from Dawn Van Buren or another member of the Cemetery Committee. We remember grate-fully your support of last year’s BAR-B-CUE, and are counting on your help in making this important fundraising event a success again this year.

STEWARDSHIP WEEKLY UPDATEOur offering last Sunday together was $3,221, well over the $3,000 needed to cover KRC’s daily operating expenses for one week.

Inspired by the abundance with which the Lord has blessed us, let us continue, as his faithful stewards, to be ever mindful of the need

to maintain a weekly offering sufficient to cover our commitments.

CLASSIS ASSESSMENT 2019Each member’s share of this year’s classis assessment has been set at $97.69 All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support. The full share may be given in as many increments as are convenient. If offered weekly, that’s $6.11 per week for the remaining weeks (16) in this year. Please designate contributions, “Classis Assessment.”

Praise God for the encouraging report that Kayla Samascott Wilson's battle against stage 4 cancer has taken a significant turn for the better. Her recent PET scan reading is showing that (in her words) “The cancer has shrunk down dramatically, and in some places, there is complete resolution of cancer.” There is an abundance of awe in the overwhelming nature of all of this, from Kayla and her husband, to the medical team and her friends and family. Thank you to everyone who has lifted her and her family in prayer, and to VBS, as her children were both in attendance all of last week. Kayla has been on KRC's prayer list for a number of weeks. Please continue to keep her in your prayers, that she may experience God's complete healing, reassurance, and peace.
