Health and Well Being

• In a Curriculum for Excellence there are 3 areas that are “ Responsibility for All”

These are permeated through all subjects.LiteracyNumeracyHealth and Well being ( HWB)

HWB

• There are some areas of HWB that do not organically fit in with subject departments.

• These topics will be delivered by extraction by Support Staff and trained

S6 Peer Educators.

Health and Well Being – Sexual Health Relationships and Parenting

• The Current S1 and S2 pupils in CHS are following the following programme

• S1 • Substance Abuse – Focus Day• Positive Relationships – Focus Day• Internet Safety • S2 • Mental Health Assembly• Relationships; Understanding a person’s individuality.• Contraception • Sexually Transmitted Infections • S3 • Parenting Skills– Focus day

• S3 in session 2012/13 will take part in an event to highlight the knowledge and skills required to be a parent/carer in the future.

• We are keen to seek your views as what you see as key areas that should be included in the event.
