LAKE COMO, PENNSYLVANIA
Round Lake Camp had the most campers ever in our short history. The cooperative weather and very wonderful specialists made the 1987 summer very exciting. Our athletic program offered new levels of teaching, as well as participation. The special theme days, which included Carnival Day, Circus Day and Israel Day, were coordinated efforts of learning and fun. All of our campers traveled off camp a number of times and these destinations included a colonial era depot, Fort Delaware, roller skating and a trip to a coal mine. Special visits to camp included a very wonderful mime artist who provided a very special Shabbat and our dear friend Frank the Disco King who helped us rock and roll every other week. Our new woodshop program was very exciting and well received. Campers also enjoyed our new ropes course and a strongly implemented nature program where we learned about and helped care for ducks, chickens, rabbits and a goat. Our gala banquet and special skits ended camp with a warm and friendly evening that culminated a very busy and exciting summer time together.

To be a participant of Teen Camp was again a wonderful thing for the 1987 summer season. The weather was most cooperative and program interest and involvement reached new heights. Waterfront activities including sailing, ALS instruction, the Polar Bear Club and waterfront carnival were very well received. Camper involvement in our specialties including drama, computer, photography and arts & crafts was strong. The addition of the ropes course made pioneering more appealing. Our sports people were very active with the Wayne County tournament schedule. A record number of campers participated in the enlarged weight training program. Our end of season trips to Toronto, Washington and Philadelphia were highlights of each month. Those campers who traveled to California had an even more interesting and exciting opportunity. Our Avodah offered campers meaningful experiences and friendship days held with Round Lake Camp were fun and important. Town Council was alive and well and had a record number of campers participating in the planning and implementing of activities and programs. Our young people had a very good time.
